“Well…I got good news and bad news.” Said the Doctor as he sat down across from two people he knew very well, having worked with Sally multiple times a day and being a firefighter he had worked with Robert during training sessions for mass causalities events. “The good news is that both of you came down with the same strain of monster virus, however you each got the gender change version of the virus.”
“So I am going to become a woman and Sally is going to become a man?” inquired Robert as both of them tried to process that little bit of news.
“Sadly yes.” confirmed the Doctor
“At least we can stay husband and wife.” Said Sally weakly “What type of monster are we becoming?”
“Mermaid.” Said the Doctor as he looked at Robert
“Merman.” Said the Doctor looking at Sally.
The Coopers tried to process the information, they would be leaving their farming town for sure and what would Robert do for a living, not many fires to fight underwater.
“I have all the information for you and you will be provided free transport to the new mercolony off Florida.” Stated the Doctor “You have a month before the changes happen and the numbers for lawyers are there to help settle everything before you move.”
“Thanks…I guess.” Said Robert as he and Sally took the information and headed out the door, not sure what to do next.
