CYOTF (New)

Girl and boy to merman and mermaid

At first, Damon assumed that the first figure that emerged from the water must be Jon. Yes, he looked a bit different, but one could ascribe that to becoming a merman in general. However, he soon realized that this merman had blonde hair, very much like…Cindy?

Sure enough, closer inspection revealed a strong resemblance to the pretty blonde girl Damon had known for years, as if she had a long lost twin brother. Who worked as a male model. One could not deny he was handsome. Below the surface, his broad shoulders and masculine physique could not be ignored. While not exactly at body-builder proportions, his well-defined muscles spoke of an active lifestyle, probably similar to the one Cindy had led before now. A long, powerful mer-tail finished the picture, complete with dark purple scales decorated with black stripes and bright yellow highlights. While Damon had long considered purple to be a girly color, he found himself reevaluating that opinion. On the new Cindy, it looked more tropical than feminine.

Damon reddened. “C-Cindy! I’m so sorry. I don’t know what I did, but-”

His awkward apology was cut short by a second head popping out of the water and a melodic soprano voice gasping, “Ugh, what happened to me!?”

Looking at what could only be the transformed Jon, Damon found herself staring into the lovely blue eyes of a gorgeous girl, framed by a long curtain of inky black hair. Swiping the water from her eyes, she flicked her tail to rise up a few inches higher, letting her generous breasts come into view for a moment. Curiously, Damon ducked beneath the waves, knowing already what he would find. As expected, an unmistakably female form greeted him, hourglass figure, slender arms, perfect skin. Her tail was no less stunning. All down its tapering length, both dark and electric blue stripes vied for the eye’s attention with the electric blue winning out for the fins.

Coming back up, Damon continued his previous thought, though with even more dismay. “Oh, no! Jon, Cindy, guys, I’m so, so sorry!”

To his surprise, Cindy reached out and put a firm hand on his shoulder. “Hey, relax. It’s okay. We’re alive, thanks to you. And maybe it’s part of whatever you did, but I’m not feeling that uncomfortable like this. Don’t get me wrong, I liked being a girl. Still do, in fact. But this isn’t half bad either.”

“Wait, you like this?” Jon said, her eyes roaming over Cindy’s new body.

Cindy smiled at her. “Well, what about you? Are you at all uncomfortable like that?”

Jon paused, her smooth brow creasing with an admittedly cute frown. “I ought to be. But no, I’m not. Huh, weird.”

“Weird, indeed,” Damon’s mother said, choosing this moment to join the conversation. “Perhaps, despite your troublesome attempt to avoid this fate, your souls are a bit more attuned to these forms than we thought.”

Both Jon and Cindy shrank away from her with fear, but she held up her hands. “Calm down. I no longer wish to kill you. In fact, I’d say this was my preferred outcome, though it came from an unexpected corner.” She inspected Damon with amazement.

Damon rounded on her, fists clenched. “You tried to murder them!”

“I gave them a choice, and they made it,” the mermaid justified. “I don’t enjoy having to kill humans, especially those you value. But our people’s safety is too important to risk. In any case, this situation has gotten too out of hand. I now have three more mer-people than what I came for, a new grandchild, and a daughter whose magical powers have manifested far sooner than expected. We must return to our home before things get even more complicated.”

Before anyone could react, Damon’s mother grabbed Sarah and cast her magic. The girl cried out in surprise before collapsing into the water. Damon started towards her but realized that his girlfriend was simply becoming like himself. Soon, she had become a bit more beautiful, her face and body losing their flaws. Oddly, her eyes slanted a bit, leaving her with a slightly more exotic look. Then, her tail grew in, taking on a patchy orange, black and white pattern that reminded Damon of a koi fish. Much to his surprise, her hair also followed suit, becoming predominately porcelain white with orange and black streaks.

“Wow!” Damon breathed, unable to help but stare.

“Yes, quite lovely,” His mother nodded. “Now, that is taken care of. Let us be off.”
