James writes in the notebook “A ten dollar bill is added to the money in my wallet.” James feels his pocket expand by a small margin as he reaches for his wallet. Lo and behold, a brand new ten dollar bill is in his wallet, looking fresh from the mint with no signs of creases on the note. The clerk starts to applaud James and his idea as well as James’ look of astonishment.
“Well done, you are the first customer to think of doing that!” the clerk said. “You are lucky we don’t charge any taxes, but even if there were I would have waved them from your total. That trick was brilliant!”
James quickly paid for the notebook and pen with his brand new ten dollar bill and walked away from the store with a simple question.
“Now what do I do next?”
