John Maxwell looked up at the ceiling of the transformation center not wanting to move or look at what likely happened to him during the night. He didn’t feel any different at least but he had read enough articles and talked to the councilors to know that on the first day of the change very little normally changed and sometimes no visible changes at all happened. Still he didn’t want to look but his need to use the restroom won out as he opened his eyes and looked at his hands. So far so good, he looked at his chest, he always slept shirtless and nothing there. Even his feet looked normal. So he rolled his head over to see his twin younger brothers sleeping in bunk beds, they seemed the same as well.
“Maybe I got lucky.” said John as he rolled out of bed and put his feet on the titled floor only to hear a clump of hooves. He instantly pulled his feet up before double checking his feet looked the same but as he put his feet back down there was another clump sound. He lifted one of his feet only to see the entire bottom of the foot was black and hardened.
“I am starting to get hooves.” groaned John as he stood up and headed toward the bathroom, somehow his brothers didn’t wake up as he closed the bathroom and checked the rest of himself. Everything was normal, no fur or anything only hardened hooves feet and then he noticed that his ears had grown a bit larger and had rounded out a bit. He felt the top of his head, no bumps to show the start of Antlers. With that in the back of his mind he showered and changed and put on some shoes. The shoes felt really strange now and he wanted nothing more then to pull the shoes off but he fought the need.
He walked out of the bedroom into the common area to find his twin sister Mary already sitting at the table with a glass of water. He almost jumped back when he saw her because two large semi pointed ears where sticking out of her long blond hair, only these ears where black.
“I heard you.” announced Mary as she looked at her brother’s feet. “You got hooves already? I thought I had it bad with ears already in.”
“The start, the bottom of my feet are hardened.” Explained John as he looked at his sister. “My ears are also turning but neither of them are finished.”
“Looks like I just got lucky then.” cursed Mary with a roll of her eyes. “You know on some levels, I almost wish I was becoming a deer and you the Kitsune.”
“Is it because I am the meat eater and you are the vegetarian which you can’t be as a fox and I can’t eat meat as a deer.” asked John as Mary nodded her head slightly. “Same here…how did Jim take the news?”
“He broke up with me.” Answered Mary as she tried not to think about it.
“Ashley broke up with me as well.” Confirmed John as the two of them sat in silence for a bit, thinking about their lost boyfriend and girlfriend. Slowly the rest of the family began to arrive, Jennifer arrived first and had no visible changes at first until she asked about getting her cloths modified.
“Why?” inquired John
“My tail is coming in already.” explained Jennifer.
The twins Noah and Lucas walked out and sat down, like his brother Noah ears had changed a bit and he said he had two lumps for his coming Fawn horns. Lucas didn’t have any changes at first but one could already see the faint outlines of a raccoon mask on his face where short hair was already growing in.
The last out where their parents, their mother Susan had clearly grown in height and her chest had shirk as well while their father had done the opposite he was shorter and his chest was bigger. Also they both seamed younger, not the nearly 50 year-olds they were but they looked they had shaved a decade or more off themselves. There was no sign of the change into animal hybrids.
“So what do we do now?” inquired Jennifer.
