Jeff tried to press the “Back” button. He didn’t feel too keen on becoming part of someone else’s body. However, the screen didn’t respond. He pressed his finger harder on the glass, but this time it registered, not “Back” but “Brother.” Jeff sucked in his breath as the screen presented a silhouetted male figure. No, Jeff definitely didn’t want to bring his brother into this. Jeff looked down at the screen, and saw a backwards arrow at the base of the figure. All he had to do was exit out. Placing his finger carefully on the screen, Jeff clicked the arrow. Instead of the arrow, the screen registered his finger off by an inch, highlighting the figure’s feet.
“Commencing change.” The machine whirred and flashed, the screen darkening.
“Wait!” Jeff yelled, and frantically pressed the screen again and again. Nothing happened. But, Jeff didn’t feel anything happening to his body either. He looked down, and everything seemed normal: he still wore his jeans and t shirt, he felt the same height and weight. He laughed in relief: this machine was just a joke after all. Jeff put the machine under his bed, relieved. Perhaps though, he should go check on his brother... just to make sure.
