Elspeth and the monkey that James currently was waited in anticipation and fear respectively for the next phase of the devolution spell to kick in. And waited. And waited some more.
"Hmm, this is a bit concerning. Why have you stopped changing?" Elspeth wondered aloud to James "something seems to have gone awry with my spell"
"Eek! Eek! Ah!" James screeched in response, panicking at what the implications of this could be.
"I'm afraid a broken spell is almost impossible to reverse or alter" Elspeth sighed, as if able to translate his primitive noises "Unless I can find a way to fix this I fear you're going to have to get used to being a monkey"
"Eek! Eek! Ook?!" James responded in disbelief.
"Oh, stop whining, will you?" The witch hissed back as she pulled a pile of her notes from her desk drawer and began examining them with a disconcerting look of confusion on her face while scratching her head "The spell I've been working on for the last two years hasn't worked and I may just have paid £5000 for a pet primate. How do think I feel?"
