Josh doesn't leave home for practically nothing. He went shopping, went to work, but the rest of the time he spent lying in his bed. This is all due to a depression.
His depression was due to a car accident he had suffered a year earlier. At the time he was returning from a trip, driving his own car, but to get there faster he insisted on driving all night and ended up sleeping while driving. He lost control, got off the road and hit a tree. Due to the injuries he had to spend a month in the hospital, but the biggest problem was that his girlfriend, Lydia, who was with him in the car, did not survive. He kept blaming himself for what had happened and had lost the will to live, even thought of suicide.
That was when the doorbell rang and when he opened the door there was a package for him. He opened the package and found a device that resembled a laptop, with it was a note that read:

He saw no importance in information until he saw the part of altering reality. Then he quickly turned on the device, which he realized was easy to use, and searched for the part about reality. There he found a part where he could put his regret, where he marked that it was not having stopped to rest on his trip.
He saw nothing different until he decided to go to the garage. There he found his car that had been wrecked in the accident, totally intact. That gave him hope, Joey picked up the phone and called her old number.
"Hello Joey, what do you want?" Joey could hardly believe it when she heard Lydia's voice when she answered the call. He was silent for a while, not knowing what to say, and when Lydia said she was going to hang up he finally said, saying she had to go to his house immediately, he had something very important to say.
He decided to give the house an emergency tidy, as he had sloppy care due to depression, but, to his surprise, he did not find the mess he had left. So he took the time to remember what he could about her. He even remembered that she had a fetish for anything that was out of the ordinary. she liked mythical creatures, people with extra body parts, conjoinment, etc. the only things she really hated was scat and gore.
When the doorbell rang and Lydia came in, he gave her a hug.
She didn't understand anything about what was happening and asked "Hey Joey, what is it? What got into you?"
"It was bad, I should show it first." Joey said and took her to his room, where he showed her Chronivac. "You see this machine, it can change people and even reality itself." he said
"I can't believe you made me come here urgently just to tell me such nonsense, that's impossible." Lydia said
"It's real and I can prove it." Joey said and typed something on the device.
Lydia couldn't believe it when she grew a second set of breasts on her "No way, it really worked." she said.
"And I have to tell you this is not the first change I make that affects you." Joey said
Lydia examined her whole body trying to find what was different, and finding nothing asked "I see nothing different, what have you changed?"
"Well, for you to understand better. Do you remember that trip we made last year, the one we camped at night when we came home?" Joey asked following some his new memories.
"I remember. Why is it so important?" Lydia asked
"It's just that I made a change in reality, originally we hadn't camped. We had gone on a nonstop trip and got involved in an accident in which ..." Joey was talking, but stopped, because it was still painful for him to remember.
"What happened in this accident?" Lydia asked
Joey took courage and answered " What happened was the worst possible, you died.
"So that means you changed the story to one that the accident that killed me never happened. I do not know how to thank." she said
"You don't have to do anything. You can't imagine the happiness that I feel just to see you again." Joey said
"It may be so for you. But you revived me and I don't think it's right to do nothing. We'll have to make up for lost time and we'll use Chronivac for that." Lydia said
