CYOTF (Human)

The dashing young Prince in need of a transforming perspective

Prince Arden of the great Kingdom of Slokagard was bored. A mere 18 years of age yet there had been nothing for this dashing prince to occupy himself with other than lounging and tending to his studies. No great world saving quests or fair damsels to save from dragons. His smooth brunette hair and bright auburn eyes compliment his pale smooth complexion.

“I am so dreadfully bored Geri” He says to the young 16 year servant who bore said name. Geri is the latest servant to be assigned to keep an eye on the young Prince, and he has quickly become use to the Prince’s ambitions. The young redheaded servant with emerald eyes carried a somewhat more tanned complexion, as a result of his lowborn background, the fact he is the personal servant of a Prince is something he should be thankful for, although the Prince’s personality makes that luck of it all hard to remember at times.

“I’m sorry mi’lord but your father does not want you wandering out of the city, bandits and such you understand” Replies Geri for what feels like the millionth time that day.

With the King and Crown Prince busy off doing their royal duties, and Arden’s sisters off preforming their roles as proper young ladies of the royal family, Arden himself was left with awfully lacking in ways to entertain himself. Especially since he has finished with the token duties and studies which his father had made him do today. A dull state of affairs which has lasted for some time and will likely continue on for the foreseeable future.

“This castle has been my prison for far too long Geri. I’ve seen all there is to see here, sometimes I wish I could find a new perspective of this place, experience it for the role of someone other than myself” Arden announces wishfully to himself.

Geri gives some nervous yet polite mild laugher before responding “uh... well there are always your books sire..” he proceeds to point to the bookcase in question.

“Oh I’ve just about read everything available to man of my station. Plus words hardly equal to first hand experience. No, what I desire is being able look at this castle and land myself yet not myself” Arden says as he toys with a book, waving it around before placing back in the shelve for good measure.

Not sure if he is joking or not, Geri looks confused and says “Well I’m afraid since you are indeed you, there is not much to be done about that. But anyway perhaps we could work out a-“ Geri’s attempts to make alternative plans to appease the Prince are suddenly halted as the Prince in question tops off his chair with seemingly renewed vigour.

“Uh ha! You are a genius Geri my good man” The Prince shouts suddenly before pushing his chair back into place and moving off to the door of the room, follow quickly by a perplexed Geri.

“Uh,,, I am your grace?” Asks the servant who has no idea what the Prince is getting at.

“It’s simple Geri. If I were to simply disguise myself as another, I’d be able to experience this land anew, brilliant suggestion Geri” says the now smiling Prince.

“What...? With all do respect sire. Is that truely wise? Surely your father would have concerns about this and all of this seems awfully dangerous” stampers out Geri as he continues to tread behind the Prince.

”Nonsense my friend! I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself, besides no great adventure is sought after without some risk. As for my father, well he and Raiden are so occupied I am sure they won’t even notice. In fact they will likely be glad I’m keeping myself busy instead of begging them to take me on a war or crusade” he explains rapidly, his cheery voice gaining a temporarily disdainful streak at the mention of the King and Crown Prince.

“I.. well I... suppose if you think it’s wise sire..” Geri says meekly. He knows he has to obey the Prince’s orders and go along with this latest ridiculous plan. Getting an audience with someone important enough to overrule the Prince would take far too long, especially for a mere servant such as himself. By the time he would be able to inform the King of the Prince’s shenanigans, there would have ample time for Arden to get into trouble. And if Arden gets into trouble it is Geri who will face the brunt of the punishment.

Sighing, Geri merely hopes that he will be able to keep an eye on the Prince and make sure neither of their heads end up in a chopping block one way or another.

“Good man!” Exclaims Arden as he pats Geri in the back, causing the the young servant to squirm due to not being used to being touched by royatly in such a manner “I knew there was a reason I’ve kept you around” the prince comtinues, giving some friend,y laugher as he does. The real reason why Geri is kept around is because the King has ordered his young son to keep a servant around to keep an eye on him, but Geri didn’t particularly feel in the mood to correct the Prince.

“Well.. if you are going to do this.. you will likely New a change of clothes or some such disguise” Geri says reluctantly, reasoning that if they are going to do this they might as well do this right.

“Yes yes.. keen thinking Geri. Now where shall we search for our disguise of new perspective”
