A Game of Change

Fitting in and leveling out

added 3 years ago A AR AP

The dice land on 5 yet again, and Alex sighs resignedly as he feels his ears start to shift, moving up onto the top of his head while becoming furred and triangular. His piece slides to a stop on a World space and he draws eagerly, ready to be out of this nursery. What he reads causes his face to fall.

"You're all shifting around so much your poor clothes can hardly keep up! From now on, they'll change to fit. But fitting in is important, so more than just fitting you, they'll change to fit your surroundings too!"

A ripple seems to wash over Alex's clothes when he finishes reading, leaving him in a babyish looking sailor suit, complete with hole for his tail and ear holes in the cap. It's embarrassing, but looking at the girls, he thinks he got of lightly. Their clothes have been replaced with frilly, childish dresses, rather short ones. Mark and Cathy's diapers are blatantly obvious as they peek out from under theirs, though the forcibly happy pair doesn't seem to care. His sister on the other hand is squirming in her seat, trying to pull the dress down enough to make sure she doesn't flash her panties, and Stella.... Alex looks quickly away from Stella, blushing. Her forced crawling means that anyone who looks can she's wearing a pair of pink cotton panties with a princess theme, thick and childish looking. Her cheeks are burning red from embarrassment, and Alex finds himself uncomfortably glad they're both ten at the moment. If they were both still sixteen, or worse, only one of the was, this would be mortifying, rather than just really embarrassing.

After a few moments more of tugging at her dress, Megan gives in on making it any better and picks up the dice. They bounce to a stop on a pair of sixes, and Megan yelps in surprise as she regresses rapidly from 9 to 5. At least the 12 means they won't be getting younger each time they roll anymore, and catches her back up a bit after being sent back to nearly the beginning last turn. She's not sure becoming a kindergartener as a good trade for those, though. Her piece ends up on another time square and she draws once more from that pile. She finds herself having to focus hard to read the words, but she manages.

"Since age will no longer be dropping across the board, let's give everyone a level playing field going forwards. All players are now 16."

Getting eleven years older so quickly is a little dizzying, but Megan can't say she's unhappy about being a proper teenager again, even if it makes her dress really embarrassing. Mark and Cathy, well, they always look happy now, but something in the way they're cuddled up make it look a bit more genuine than normal. Alex and Stella on the other hand.... He brother actually has his eyes screwed shut, probably to stop himself sneaking peeks at Stella's rear as the now bright crimson girl crawls around the room. Although, thinking about that....

"Shouldn't you be able to stop, Stella?" Megan asks. "You've definitely done more than three laps now." Stella looks surprised, but does indeed stop crawling.

"Oh! Thank you, Megan! I was so focused on getting it done I forgot to count the laps!" Her brother's girlfriend pushes herself upright, into a crouch, and then pauses. She looks very unstable, her feet oddly positioned, one hand on the floor and the other on the wall, looking like they're the main thing holding her up. She stays in the strange pose, face looking increasingly worried, for several long moments before letting out a cry of dismay.

"Stella? What's wrong?" Alex asks, opening his eyes and turning towards her, tail lashing agitatedly.

"I...I...I don't know how to stand up!" She replies, in a voice that's very nearly a wail. Her tenuous balance gives out at the same time, and she falls backwards on to her rump. Alex rushes over to her, but even when he carefully helps her to her feet, she just can't stay there. Her legs can hold her weight well enough, but a soon as she tries to take even a step, something goes wrong and she falls.

"Um, Stella? Now that I think about it, didn't your last card say you'd forget how to walk?" Megan interrupts after several minutes of the pair trying to walk Stella even a couple of steps. Mark and Cathy don't seem to care about the delay, lost in snuggling with each other, but she's worried the game might. Stella's face falls at the reminder and she slumps in Alex's arms.

"But I.... Fine! I'll crawl like a stupid baby! Stupid game!" She pushes away from Alex and crawls back towards the board with what is best described as a determined pout on her face. Megan's catboy brother stares after her for several moments, eyes drifting to her wiggling, underwear-exposed rear, before he snaps out of it and dashes back to his seat, bright red under his fur.

When she gets back to her seat, Stella seems to be having difficulty getting back into her chair, and after a moment Megan slides the dice over so she can reach them without doing so. Stella scowls, but grabs one of them and rolls. It tumbles across the table....
