Ryan was furious with Tony. They had been teammates. Why was he doing this?
"To avoid detention, Doofus," growled Tony as he joined the class on the field.
"You say something, Tony?"
"Just following orders," Tony answered. He pulled the leg strap out of his left shorts leg to show he was wearing a jockstrap, "see!"
Ryan shrieked in pain.
"Fine. Now that you're here we will begin with 50 jumping jacks."
"All right, Tony, wear me for PE, but take me off when you're done. I want to be human again," Ryan whined.
Tony didn't answer. He just did his calisthenics. Coach had them finish class with laps.
Tony was pretty sweaty when he got to his locker. He stripped down to his jockstrap, then started to dress in his street clothes.
"Aren't you gonna shower, Tone?" Rafe asked as he stripped down to his birthday suit. He had the locker next to Tony.
"Nah, not today. I'm breaking in a new jock. They're like new blue jeans. You gotta wear them non stop without washing to break them in."
Rafe laughed. "Dude you got that wrong. You can bathe during the six months, but you just don't wash the jeans. I never heard that about jockstraps though?"
Tony laughed. "I'll shower after I get home."
Ryan was fuming. Couldn't Tony hear him. Didn't Tony care.
Vinnie looked around the locker room. He didn't see Ryan- human or jockstrap. He figured Ryan had changed back and left.
At the end of the day, Horst and Carter stopped Vinnie and asked about Ryan
"He changed back hours ago, " Vinnie said.
"Then he's running around naked, because I just checked his locker. His gym clothes and street clothes are still there."
" What? I left him on the bench in the locker room, and he was changing back. "
Just then Race came up to Horst and Carter laughing.
"Guys, you won't believe what Tony Dante did today! He didn't shower after gym class, but he claimed it was because he was breaking in a new jock. And get this, he thinks jocks are like jeans, you wear them six months without washing!"
Horst, Carter and Vinnie looked at each othet.
"Where's Tony?" Horst asked.
" Probably, home or work. This is his second year as a senior. He flunked half his classes last year. He only has to take four classes a day this year to graduate. "
