Rosarie had a great day at classes this morning, First they practiced drawing letter shapes - both in English and Japanese; then they learned to meditate, and they even got to watch some cartoons. There was a pink girl who turned into a bigger girl to solve problem, but Rosa could hardly understand her Japanese.
There were only 3 in her class, but Erlkin-sama promised there would soon be many more transferring in. Rosa was already friends with Tess-chan, and she really loved Eu-chan's deep blue hair, but she had a suspicion that Fern-chan hated her. Thrilling drama, I know.
After classes, they sat down for lunch. Rosa got an apple, a corn dog, and some ice cream, and most of her classmates did the same. In the middle of the lunch hour, she heard someone yelling "Henry".
She perked up, but felt disappointed in herself. She was Rosarie, not Henry.
But she kept hearing the name, and a moment later, she saw Chris-sama run up to the table. She got up and hugged him.
"Are you okay? What are they doing to you?"
"Tey're jut letting uth hang out and watch a mofie."
"That's good." Chris patted her head before seeing Professor Erlkin approach. She was a small woman, barely taller than Rosarie, and had frizzy, bright pink hair.
"You know you shouldn't be saying that name."
"Henry?"
"It's hard enough having your mind reconstructed and reduced to that of a child. You need to allow her to find her new identity."
"If it's so terrible, why did you do it to him?"
"First off, 'Her'. Secondly, I don't do it, security does. If I wasn't around caring for these poor things, someone else will. Someone worse. Now, leave the table before you have to join the class."
Chris ran, eventually bumping into a classmate, sending his books and tray flying. As he bent down to help clean up, he saw a sketch - a little girl with a machine gun and angel wings. Below it were the words "death keeper"
"Hey, cool design." It wasn't.
"It's only a rough sketch."
"I could really see you as a Deathkeeper." Not entirely a lie. "And sorry about knocking your shit down"
"It's nothing, but I will miss that cake." He chuckled. "The name is Josh, by the way."
"I'm Chris, at least for now"
"Well, see you around!"
Both Chris and Josh hoped they'd never have to see eachother again.
