Laura anxiously glanced out from her hiding spot, thankfully the coast appeared to be clear. As the girl now slowly left the library she pondered her situation.
Laura was too young now to even attempt to drive. As she looked herself over she couldn't help but feel like a child. Laura borrowed sneakers lit up with each step she took, illuminating the ground with a soft pink light. The world now also seemed so much bigger than before. Laura was easily under 5 feet tall now and while she may have been tall for her age, she was definitely a child.
Being a child also had other problems. If anyone were to find her, how could she explain her situation? Without any form of I.D. everyone would assume she was just an imaginative little girl. Once more entering the parking lot of her office, Laura gasped. Kaitlin had returned.
Kaitlin exited the car, meals in hand as she made her way towards the front door. Oddly the lights to the office were off. "That's weird," Kaitlin mused. "Laura wasnt going anywhere and she was expecting dinner. Why would the lights be off?" Trying the front door only confused Kaitlin more. Why was the door locked. Before Kaitlin could come up with an answer she heard someone calling her name.
Laura sprinted towards her friend. She didnt know what she could possibly say but considering her situation, she didnt know what to do. "Hello," Kaitlin said, slightly confused. "Are you lost little girl?"
Laura winced at the patronizing tone in Kaitlins voice. As she stopped to catch her breath she felt her eyes go wide as she leaned her head back. She usually was taller than Kaitlin and now found her had to crane her neck upwards. "Kaitlin it's me Laura I need your help."
Kaitlin smirked as she looked at the young girl. "Sure kid," she chuckled. "What are you her niece or something?"
"No Kaitlin please it's me," Laura exclaimed. "I know it's hard to believe but I'm telling the truth. How else would I know that you've been working her for the last five years."
"Your aunt could have told you that," Kaitlin said, looking slightly annoyed. "Now where is Laura? Shes not one to play a joke. We got alot of work to do."
Laura groaned in frustration, trying to convince Kaitlin would be difficult. Unless she could convince Kaitlin she would be stuck or worse, Kaitlin would call the police. As she reached into her pocket Laura's eyes lit up. The dice. Laura could show Kaitlin but, that would mean becoming even younger. Did she dare take that chance or could she hope to convince her friend.
