A soft gasp escaped Josh's mouth but this was enough to be picked up by Kai's new sharp ears. He groaned in his new voice. Slowly Kai opened his eyes and saw Josh standing over him. Kai would normally have greeted him with some good morning remark but all that came out of him was a soft bark.
Kai's eyes had been half open and unaware but the audible sound of his voice immediately opened them. Frantic yelps came out of his mouth as both his eyes focused on his snout. Kai jumped off the bed and kept making whines. He ran past Josh to his bathroom. Josh went to the bathroom and saw that Kai was staring at himself in the mirror with his front paws on the counter.
Here Josh got a good look at his former best friend. From the yelps and whines and frantic look in his eyes it was clear that Kai was still human on the inside. But Kai was at least a good looking dog. His fur was neat and clean, from what Josh could tell he didn't smell. He was a large dog which was good Because both Kai and Josh hated small dogs. The thought of Kai running around as a terrier was a funny idea.
Josh went into the other room and grabbed his phone he called Hailey. No answer. But he did get a text.
" He Josh I can't talk I'm driving."
" The chrovonic turned Kai into a dog!!!!"
" Oh really? Well is he behaving?"
" I mean yes but is this really ethical."
" Oh great he is finally being a good boy."
" But but how do we turn him back."
"I hardly understood the thing myself. But I trust you, I put the chrovonic on the top of the refrigerator."
After Josh put down the phone he turned around and saw Kai in the doorway.
His eyes showed that he head heard everything but his fangs also showed that he understood and was mad.
