Edwin knew he had to tell the truth. Tell Lexi about the Chronivac. For starters, keeping that it was in partly his fault that they were conjoined now would eat him alive. He’d never be able to keep that secret. She deserved to know. Second, what if he wanted to use it again? She’d find out sooner or later. So with a somewhat heavy heart he finally spoke up.
“It... the Chronivac is able to change reality. You put something in, and it makes it so.” He stopped, sighing. “And it... I’m... part of why we’re like this. I thought it’d be funny to make the three legged race real, but the way I said it.... I... I’m the reason we’re stuck.” Edwin buried his head into his hand, clearly a bit upset now that he was saying it out loud.
“Edwin...?”
“I know you may never want to talk to me again after that, but... we don’t have much choice really. I couldn’t keep that a secret though. If we’re gonna be stuck like this I couldn’t just keep it a secret. I had to tell you the truth.” Edwin just stopped talking, still hiding in his hand.
