Among the many versions of the magic shop, none were more specialised then the Branch of Fantasies that had a segment in each Village, Town or City that housed Magic Shop Companies.
At first glance even to those aware of the magic shop's existence this Branch merely looked like a costume shop only selling mythology creature costumes and where oddly quite often customers would spend very extended periods within the changing stalls but in reality these costumes and stalls are keys to transformations that also took the transformed to alternate (or as some might say pocket dimensions) world or worlds (in the former a world focused on the costume type, the later a world filled with all sorts of mythology creatures) to experience the joys and wonders of the mythology creatures the customers chose to be.
Actually come to think of it this Branch can actually be seen as more of a special vacation place instead of a costume shop although probably to maintain the cover to those against magic it wasn't rare to see customers at times leaving with magicless versions of the usual stock (although many did visit with the costume now and again) but for those accepting of magic here's how the main attraction works:
first is that using the store's stock is like renting for a period if not taking full position of the items (and even just one can cost a bomb in getting ownership) with anywhere from a few minutes to usually a year (longer is doable but no one wanting a temporary change has yet to go any longer)
second once settled in choice the customers must go into a stall and get changed with their normal clothing specially stored within special provided boxes that are transferred from a special wall socket opposite of the door:
costumes usually need to be worn without any other clothing but once dressed in them the customer is transformed and warped to the alternative world into corresponding counterparts to the stalls within certain special areas of this magical world that also act as the way to return. one merely has to go to the correct area and use a stall to revert and return.
that said not all customers come by for a brief gettaway or secret vacation spots, now and again their are those looking to remain forever within the transformed state and world for various reasons in which case the store can usually agree to within certain conditions:
1: customer must be of legal age within the country (unless under a joint venture with parents or legal guardians in which case all must be the same creature)
2: all assets are required to be signed over to the store (though often staff do assure said customers are property setup within the world or worlds in the process)
3: All records are checked beforehand and while the store doesn't prevent criminals from undergoing the process measures are taken in certain areas (also fugitives and those under sentences like community service and crefews are automatically turned away)
pregnancy is also possible in the transformed forms (both pre and post transformation) but depending on the customer's transformed state if giving birth during a stay the child either cannot ever leave the world or must undergo a special transformation process to human (half human forms are the ones that can become humans from this like centaurs and merfolk but those like dragons and Unicorns cannot).
