After a few moments her troop finally caught up with her. The males quickly descended on the Dinofelis remains, baring the sharpened rocks necessary to carve the beast. A female elder approached Vanessa, making happy grunts that soon turned into angry ones. Vanessa was confused for a moment until the smell hit her. She looked at her bum to see that she defecated herself in fear at some point during her run. Sticking her tongue out in disgust, Vanessa quickly distanced herself from their meal and whipped herself off in a nearby bush.
A male approached her, laughing as she finished whipping and offering her a prime cut of the cat. Salivating at the offer, Vanessa snatched the meat and began to chow down. Giggling as the male put his arm around her, both made their way back to the Dinofelis carcass. She looked up at the tree to see a few members of her troop enjoying fruit it bared. If this much food around it was clear the troop was going to settle down here for the day, perhaps even all through the next.
The rest of the day went by fast and turned out to be very enjoyable. Vanessa spent all day playing and grooming with the other females, as well as teasing the male trying to court her. She expected to be constantly clinging for survival, but she ended up feeling like a kid again!
The sun had already set, and the sky was beautifully lit by stars. Some members of the troop were already asleep, while Vanessa and her male friend gazed into the sky. The light mesmerized her little mind, as she started to think back about her previous life. She wasn’t some miserable woman trying to constantly compete with flashy technology for the attention of her friends and family anymore. She was a happy Habilis satisfied with her extremely simple life. The only downside was her friend and family didn’t devolve with her.
Vanessa looked back at her necklace. It was tempting to just take it off now, but she wanted to wait a while to make that decision. Her train was thought was suddenly interrupted by her male friend making some suggestive grunts. It was getting hard to resist him and there was also the fact that their troop didn’t have any kids to raise. Vanessa made a quick replied by presenting herself to him. After a while both went to sleep a lot closer than before.
