"I just want out right now, if that's alright." Marsha fiddles with her fingers nervously, not quite looking Donovan in the eye.
"Out where?"
"I don't know, out of this room, out of this building, whatever. I need open air."
"How about we go for a walk? We'll go down main street a bit, look into the stores, talk and get to know each other." Donovan takes her chin into a hand and smiles as he brings her face to look up to his own. It's just as strange as her face, but she likes it. It's comforting to her.
"Wouldn't that be a little... inconspicuous?"
"Only the paid customers get to walk around the island, and they're honestly here to see people like us. You'd be surprised how many people have wierd fetishes that involve our kind of people."
"So I guess the lesson here is to not accept free tickets to a spa getaway."
"No, that probably wasn't a good idea. Come on, let's go get you a coat and we can go for a walk."

Several minutes later, Marsha and Donovan are walking around on main street, Marsha bundled up in a thick fur coat. The normal humans walking around are dressed lighter, but then again, they're warm blooded. Many stare appreciatively as the reptilian couple walk past.
"So... where do you come from, Marsha?" Donovan asks, walking with his hands behind him.
"Umm... New Orleans..." she answers meekly.
"Oh, wow. I went there once. It was maybe the best time I ever had. It was during carnival season and a friend of mine got me into riding one of the parade floats... it was alot of fun."
"Which parade was it?" She asks, daring a glance up at him.
"Oh, which was it...?" He takes his chin into his hand and thinks it over. "Oh, come on... I can remember... ah. Bacchus, I think?"
"Bacchus? You rode in Bacchus?!"
"Yeah. That's one of the big ones, right?"
"Yeah, that's putting it mildly. So what about you? Where are you from?"
"Philadelphia myself. 'Course, even if I could get off this island, I'd never be able to go back anyway. Winter'd kill me."
"Yeah, it's really chilly out now..."
"Well, how about you and me get a cup of coffee? There's a great place just down the street from here, and they serve us for free."
"That actually sounds really great."
