Another month passed, and school was about to start.
Liam’s growth became very clear as he reached 5 feet tall, and his body was changed to fit that new height instead of just a scaled scaled up version.
As he went to class for the first day in fifth grade, he noticed how he was now taller than most of the other students instead of being one of the shorter ones. The rest of the class also took notice of the runt that became one of the tallest in class, and asked him how he became so tall so fast.
“I don’t know” Liam lied, knowing well that the growth was caused from the fountain, which he and his dad kept as a secret from everyone else. He didn’t want anyone else to grow.
As the school day went by, he loved his height advantage over others.
Liam continued to inch up as the weeks went by, and as another month passed, he completely towered over anyone else in class at 5’10”, including his fairly short teacher, and he made sure everyone knew it. It became common for him to teasingly do stuff as lifting something out of reach for a few seconds. He didn’t want to be a bully thought, so he quickly brought them down afterwards. He also used his height to help others, bringing stuff down from high shelves and similar stuff like that.
At that point, Dan became worried about his son growing so much, but seeing his child’s enjoyment (as well as knowing that the small bowl in the fountain could probably reverse the effects), he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
A bit more than two extra weeks have passed (the 93ed day since the start of the growth), and Dan saw his son wearing one of his shirts.
“What are you doing Liam?” he asked with a bit of anger and concern.
“Well, the shirt you bounce me sometime ago was too short for me, so I tried to wear one of yours.” Liam replied.
Looking at his son wearing his shirt, it was the perfect length, though too wide of the child’s skinny body. Dan knew what it meant and prepared himself, as his son came closer and looked at him right in the eyes.
“I’m as tall as you dad!” Liam shouted in excitement. “Can you measure me to be sure?”
A tiny bit worried about what is going to happen, Dan went alongside his son to the measuring wall and marked his height.
“Six feet, four inches and a third... You aren’t my height Liam, you are taller than me...” the words came out of his mouth. He possibly didn’t notice his son being taller because he was wearing shoes while Liam was barefoot.
“That is amazing!” shouted Liam in response. “Can you remove your shoes to compare us?”
With some hesitation, Dan remover his shoes and socks, and stood alongside his son. It was barely noticeable, but he was shorter.
“I think it is time to stop drinking from the fountain Liam, you’re too tall for a ten year old” said Dan.
“But I love being tall and I want to be even taller. Please dad?” Begged Liam.
After consideration, Dan understood that even if he said no, Liam could still go to the fountain if he allowed it and if he didn’t, and hesitantly replied “Fine...”
Liam jumped in excitement, his head close to the ceiling as he did so. “Thanks dad, I want to be huge!”.
