It was no easy deal possessing the body of another person that's bigger than yours. The bodies I've possessed these past few days are children and teenagers, but no adult. Another thing that annoys me is the armor these knights are wearing. They're steel and they hinder my body from phasing through them and giving them a swift possession.
Luckily, I have Carim with me who helped me with my plan. He distracted one lowly knight, a stout man with a drooping beard. While they are in the midst of conversation, I jumped at the man's back without a mail of armor. It was a direct hit and I woke up immediately with Carim in front of me.
"Did you do it?" Carim asked.
"I did," My voice is gruffed and my mouth tastes like alcohol, and it's not the good kind. "Wait here. I'll signal you when you can pass."
The knight's shed is at the end of the line. With heavy steel boots, I dragged this heavy body in the mud and towards the shed. I was sweating profusely when I reached the place. By then, another knight saw me. He's tall and his eyes are thinned with suspicion.
"Rorik, why are you back here?" He asked.
"I um- need to report something, sir"
"Sir?" He snickered. "Since when did you call me sir? Anyway, have at it. What is it you want to say?"
I walked closer and asked him to kneel so he can hear my whisper. As he did, I jumped out of the fat knight's body and into the tall ones. I was briefly disoriented from the shift of height and the lengthening of my limbs but it did not falter me like before.
"Wh- where am I?" The fat knight asked. He looked around and saw me in front of him. "What did you do to me Olvar!? You cock twat."
"I didn't do anything Rorik. You're the one who got here and soiled yourself." The knight looked down on his groin but found that it's dry and clean. Before he could retort, I was gone and inside the shed.
Two knights are stationed inside. One standing watch and another sleeping on the wall. The one sleeping seems to be the commander of these knights because he is the most decorated one. He's in complete armor except for his back which is hidden from sight. I went to the other knight and greeted him,
"Olvar? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to guard the line?"
"Aye," God I sound weird saying their middle English words. "but Rorik heard that one of Arslan's knights is hiding in one of the wagons sir."
"Hush, don't let Commander Olly hear you." The knight grabbed me closer and hid us from the window. "Run to Proudspire and tell Yorick that it was I who found Arslan's men. He'll give us coin and I'll share a few with yo-" Before he could finish, I jumped at his body and possessed him from the inside. Another shift, another body to get used to. I wasn't stout nor tall, I am somewhere in between. A lean man in his 20s with a growing definition of muscles under these pesky steel armor
Olvar woke up from his daze, looked around and saw me eyeing him with ferocity. He didn't take another moment sooner before he left. As he did, I moved over to our commander and flipped him over. Before he could wake up, I jumped at his gaping back and controlled his body. This body is old and my bones ached like they never did before. Despite that, this guy's muscles are brimming with power and I could carry these extra heavy armors with ease.
The other night looked at me with confusion in his eyes. His head is still swirling with pain and disorientation. I left him at that and went outside to talk to the knights blocking the path.
"Commander Olly!" The knights saluted. Their wooden spears tipped with fire-forged steel gleamed in the sunlight and lit the path with its eery red glow.
I pointed at our cart and Carim, "Let that wagon pass."
"But sir, Legate Yorick told us not to let anyone out until he returned."
"I know what he said but that man helped uproot out Arslan's men hiding in Proudspire Hold. He's no accomplice of Arslan. Let them pass or I'll have your heads on a spike adorning Proudspire's walls."
"At once sir!"
Olvar and Rorik fetched Carim and told him of my orders. The others in the line protested but they couldn't do anything to revoke what I just did. They could only eye Carim with envy as his wagon passed over theirs.
"Jon?" Carim asked. I nodded and he knew that it was me. "Good job. It's nice to have Frigga's knight eh?"
Well, it is. It might even be better to possess one and accompany Jon's travel. I asked Carim about this and he knew that it's a good idea too. In the end, it's my decision anyway.
