You are a young man named Ethan, living in a city at the base of a dragoness’ mountain. The dragon is in heat, seeking a permanent mate, but there are no dragons nearby for thousands of miles. Frustrated, the dragoness takes out her furry on the city’s farmland. You, a young blacksmith, are very curious about this dragon. You have heard that she has two forms: her beast form and her formal, 9-foot tall human-like form.
You close shop for the week and pack some supplies to climb the mountain. The city is in distress, trying to find a solution to tame the great beast. “Maybe I can reason with her? Maybe there’s something I could do for her.” You figure. You know that you should at least bring a gift if the dragon is going to listen to you. So, you rummage through your belongings, trying to find something of a dragon’s interest. Then you remember you have a large jewel hidden away under your floor. You found it by chance; a glowing, magical stone that possesses a strange power. “This will do perfect.” You You make haste and begin your ascent at dawn.
The climb was treacherous, but you had the proper gear to help you. The only issue was that you don’t have enough tools for descending the mountain afterwards. But, you’ll handle that when the time comes.
Arriving at the entrance of the castle-like cave, you call out to the dragoness. “Great dragoness!” you shout a few times more. Suddenly, a rushing wind surges over you, knocking you forward to the ground. You look up to see the dragoness in all her glory in front of you. She sits proud at 40 feet tall. She may not be the largest dragon, but she is nonetheless dangerous.
“What do you want human? Do you come to plead for mercy on your city?” She asks with a powerful, stern voice.
“Not necessarily.” You reach for your satchel at your side, “I came to see you.” You pull out the gem and set it in front of her. “How did you find this?” Her tone changes, asking inquisitively.
“It fell from the sky a few months ago. I was out in the eastern forest when it landed near me.”
“It is mine,” she says, “and you brought it back. Thank you.”
The stone you have returned gives the dragoness great power. What does she do to you now?
