Anna had been living with her best friend Holly since their first dorm in college. They had met in a dance class back when they were younger and when it came time for college, they both ended up at the local college. Anna had known Conor their whole life it seemed. They were neighbors and their parents were friends so they often had play dates. Those play dates changed to simply hanging out and the two developed a strong platonic friendship.
Anna was actually the one that introduced Conor to Holly. It was at Anna's birthday party that Conor found the petite brunette in the corner. They hit it off immediately with a shared interest in a couple TV shows. By the end of the night, they had exchanged numbers and the rest was history.
Though Anna genuinely loves them as a couple, she's had her own feelings to sort through. After dating many guys, Anna had begun to realize that Conor was about the best man she's ever met. Sure he was just a 5'9" blond haired guy with an athletic physique, but he had a charm and care that always made her feel warm inside (and sometimes wet). She held back these feelings well though. Conor had never given her any hints so she was okay believing that he would be nothing more than fantasy.
It was late in the afternoon as Anna got home to find that Conor was already home in the shower. She thought it would be nice to bake some cookies since it had been a long week and it would be nice to treat Conor and Holly. Digging through the kitchen drawers for the cookie cutters, Anna came across a small box.
Taking out and examining the box, it clicks, Conor is gonna propose to Holly. A wave excitement comes over her and is very quickly with a new feeling that he'll never be hers. She opens the box and sees the cute ring. In a moment of impulse and fantasy she takes the ring out.
"Yes, yes, Conor! I'll marry you!"
She smiles at an imaginary Conor on his knee in front of her. She picks up the ring and slides it over her slender brown finger. Goosebumps form as it fits perfectly.
She holds it up to the light and watches it shine. The pupils of her large brown eyes dilate and a light breeze blows through her long dark hair.
Feeling overwhelmed, she puts the ring back in the box. Hides it, and decides to go to her room.
