Alice took her card. Maybe it was the increased intelligence from her first change, or her brain had matured along with her body, but she knew that her mother was experiencing the worst of the worst right now. She didn’t want to make a big mess and kept quiet.
Rachael picked up on this subtle change, but she couldn’t care less. She was a blimp, just like her mother. Rachael promised herself that she’d never repeat what her mother did. The worst part, she knew she’d get even bigger as the game went on.
Thomas and Brian looked at Rachaels eyes, they felt as if they could read her mind. They knew exactly what was running through her thoughts. The dread.
Alice turned the card over, she said aloud:
“Oh!!” Alice yelled with glee, “it’s another bonus round!”
“Well.” Rachael said, stern and full of anger yet trying to not shout, “read it out... please,” Rachael said, passive aggressively.
“Okay.” Alice said, a spark of discomfort in her voice. She’d already read the card to herself, she was hesitant to how the others would react, “disregarding all Male players, each female player will be given two dice. One deciding...” Alice stopped,
“W-what does it say...” Thomas jumped in,
“It doesn’t... it’s been scratched out like the last card. There’s more to the card, but I think we have to roll to be given the answer,”
“Finish the card then,” Rachael said, stern, unlike her usual tone, she quickly picked up on herself and said, “H-honey,” and forced a smile on her face.
“Umm...” Alice said with unease, she collected herself, and finished the card, “Each female player will be given two dice. One deciding... blank... the other deciding... blank...” as Alice finished the card, in front of Alice, Rachael, and Thomas, appeared a pair of dice each, one pink, the other green.
Thomas sighed as the dice appeared in front of him. He was hoping the game wouldn’t count him as female.
Throughout the game, he had gotten more used to being female. But he was still dying to get back to his old body. Secretly, he was hoping he kept his new age change.
Thomas threw both dice at the same time, they stopped rolling. The pink landed on a 2, the green also 2.
Alice threw hers separately. First, green, it landed on 4. Next she picked up pink, it landed on another 4.
Lastly, Rachael grabbed both dice quickly and threw them with no care in the world, they hit the back of the game box before rolling to a stop. She looked at them, pink was 6, green was 5.
Alice noticed a small shift on her card, she picked it up, her face was disappointed to see that the blank spaces hadn’t been filled in yet. Instead, underneath the original text, written was a new sentence. Alice read it out loud,
“Any players who roll doubles will gain a third blue dice that determines... its blank again,” Alice sighed, “if the player is able to roll a fourth golden dice, which can change anything the player chooses, and will be kept even after the game is finished.”
Two blue dice appeared, one in front of each sibling.
Alice rolled first, it rolled off the table, “heck!” She yelled, she left the table to pick it up.
While she did this, Thomas rolled his dice, it landed on a 5.
