“You are becoming dragons.” Answered the doctor as the entire Maxwell family just looked at him in a state of shock. “In truth, it is amazing dragons are a very rare monster type only about 5,000 people dragons in the entire world.”
“Dragons…we are becoming dragons.” stated Susan Maxwell as she looked at her family.
“Yes, while we haven’t determined what type of dragon you all are becoming but it looks like none of you are changing genders but even there, we can’t be sure, there hasn’t been many dragons.” Stated the Doctor
“Types…?” inquired Mike Maxwell
“Yes, there are four main types of dragons. Your classic 4 limb plus two wings dragon which you tend to see in pop culture, another type is two limb dragons with the wing making up the arms like giant bats. The other two are the wingless Chinese dragon which yet somehow is able to fly and the feathered dragon out of South America.” Explained the Doctor as he laid out the images. “On top of that we have identified 10 types of dragons in each type. They loosely seam to based around elements or abilities.”
“Such as?” inquired Susan Maxwell
“Well you got your fire breathing dragon, along with lightning, ice, poison gas and acid spray. Outside of that you have rarer types like air, earth, water.” Explained the Doctor
“How could breathing air be rare?” inquired John Maxwell
“Well the air dragon seamed to be able to fly extremely high, as in they can fly at the same height as a jet liner while Earth dragons can stand greater pressure same with water dragons but water dragons can swim while earth dragons are digger.” Explained the Doctor
“Wait…there are two missing.” Said one of the twin boys
“Yes, the light and shadow dragons, there are only four of them in the world and they release either a blinding flash of light or a fog of darkness which it can see while no one else could.” Explained the doctor. “At the moment we don’t know what you are becoming.”
“I see.” Said Mike Maxwell “Where are we going? We aren’t going to be staying in our house I assume?”
“No, the world governments have set up a dragon sanctuary in the Rocky Mountains, alps and Himalayas. I assume you will head to the Rocky Mountains, but you could go to any of them. Multiple caves and tunnels have been carved out there for the dragons who will call it home.” Explained the doctor
“Caves…we are going to live in caves?” inquired Susan, she hadn’t even been camping since she was in the girl scouts and now, she was going to live in a cave.
“I am afraid so, but you have to understand a newborn dragon is the size of a human and an adult female can be 150 ft long with a wingspan of over 300ft.” explained the Doctor as everyone in the Maxwell family eyes widened. “Like in birds females tend to be larger than males but still the smallest males are over 100 ft long. You will still be able to speak like humans but your voice will be loader and we believe your life span will be around 200 to 250 years. We have packets for all of you.”
“I guess…we have a lot to deal with.” Stated Mike Maxwell
