Third Person POV
The skies crackled with fire. Lightings bolted, dashed and painted the heavens with their powers. The clouds shifted and hole emerged, revealing a blazing light quickly dashing to the earth. This magnificent sight is naught for the attention of Central City, a large expanse of kingdoms that has transcended into the modern period. The denizens are too busy with their lives that they didn’t notice the heavenly apparition surging out of the heavens.
No one noticed but one. Marco looked above the skies, his curly hair fringing his view, and saw boy clad in fire screaming aghast. The spirit crashed in a supersonic boom, covering the surrounding area with dust. Strangely, no one noticed the spirit except for Marco. He looked around if a single soul is willing to bat an eye, but he found none. The wharf is desolate for attention except for his. With his perception, he went to where the spirit landed.
The crater is covered in a golden glow, thrumming with the light of the second moon. The dust settled and pebbles are locked in their place. Marco skidded to the center and he found that what he saw is true. It was a boy basked in a golden light emanating from his skin. He’s awake and spouting strange curses about a person named ‘Gad’. Marco crept behind a large rock and peeked, but along the way, he tripped over flat ground which the ghost noticed.
“Who’s there?” The ghost asked. He picked up a rock but he was surprised when it merely passed through his fingers. He tried once more but the solid rock stayed put on the ground. “What the fuck is happening to me?”
Marco left his hiding spot, his legs quivering and his voice undulating from fear. He met multitudes of apparitions and enchanting creatures before. He mostly knew every single one. From the little Piffer to the island destroying Cragmaws. This one, however, is beyond his understanding. It’s not a ghost because it could talk, and ghosts glow blue or green not gold. It’s not a poltergeist since it couldn’t touch physical objects. And neither is is a ghoul, ghast, hagraven and so many more supernatural creatures. This one is new and brimming with new possibilities. Marco could feel his curiosity overflowing beyond the boundaries of his fear.
“H- Hello,” Marco greeted. The creature’s face turned and gawked at him with its golden eyes. “Wh- who are you?”
“Who am I? I am… Umm… I actually don’t know. Why the fuck doesn’t I know my name?”
“What are you?”
“What kind of question I that? Of course, I am human. At least that’s what I think I am.” He tried picking up the rock but he only grew more frustrated the more he tried. “I was going to throw this rock at you because you scared me. But I can’t do that when I can pick up this rock. So, help me out here kid.”
Marco picked up the rock and let it rest in his palm.
“No, not that. I mean help me out. Where am I and why the hell am I glowing yellow?”
“You don’t know you’re in Central City?”
“Central City? I don’t know any city named like that. Is this still in America?”
“Aimer Ca? Where’s that?”
“America? You don’t know America?”
Marco gave him another confused look.
“So America doesn’t exist here. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. Wait- is that? Holy shit!”
When the dust settled and the two moons shone brighter than before, the place around the wharf is evident for the apparition to see. Islands, a lot of them, are floating in the sky like large suspended Chinese lamps. Some floated up and down slowly while some are static in their place. Some have tall towers in their center acting as lighthouses circling their line of light. There are also suspended bridges connecting the islands in the skies. Most of all, in between islands are brightly lit ships and large birds that are large as a small building.
“The Islands! They are floating.” The spirit pointed.
“They are,”
“In my world, islands are covered with water.”
“Whoa! That’s amazing. Wait, did you say in ‘your world’?”
“Yes. I’m from another world. Well, that’s what the man in heaven said before kicking me out.”
“Follow me!” Marco said.
They ran out of the wharf, into the crowd of strange folk dressed in strange clothes doing strange actions. People are floating in the air wearing strange magical machinery strapped on their backs and some are wearing spider legs which they use to weave above the crowd. Then there are several men wearing silver masks adorned with nothing but eyeholes. They are equipped with a strange glowing baton and a normal gun. The ghost assumed that they are the police of this world.
This place is filled with wonders the ghost couldn’t imagine back in his world. Surely he could spend a few hours here, just gawking at the sight and learning everything here. Or he could follow this Marco who the ghost realized is the only person who could see him.
