Jacob said, "I think I have an idea" and sat down in front of the computer. He enters some things and as he finishes he stood up and went to the center of the room. Matt looked over the settings and hit start.
At first Jacob started to shrink and his skin darkened. Gradually it turned shiny with a pattern on it, making it look more and more like carbon fibre. On his back a pair of vertical cylinders started to appear. His arms became more and more flat, like the main sheet of some framework with joints where his elbow and shoulders where. On the back of his hands comparatively large lumps start to appear forming motors. Similar motors appear on his feet as his legs have also changed into a carbon fibre sheet. Spikes grew out of the centers of the motors splitting into two sections forming propellers. His chest became completely flat, except for a strip of what appeared to be velcro. The strip reached all the way to his back which held a pair of batteries, as wells some electronics. Finally his head turned into a flat box with a pair of stereoscopic cameras, connected to his body. His fingers and toes turned into simple clamps he could open and close.
As the changes finished he noticed how small he was. His body was tiny and more or less squared with arms and legs coming off the edges. He looked very much like a racing drone, except that he was modified to be able to stand on two legs and hold things. He was rather tiny with his completely span only being about 10 inches. He wanted to say something, but realized he couldn't speak. "Damn forgot something for speech", he thought to himself, when he got an idea.
Matt's phone buzzed and as he looked at his he got a message from Jacob. Somehow the little drone had connected itself to the phone. "So can you hear me?", asked Matt and Jacob replied in text, "Yes". He spun up his motors and flipped over to be horizontal, hovering around Matt who smiled at his little friend. "I've set the timer to auto revert in 2 hours. Didn't know this was such a great idea", the drone texted while he buzzed around like a dragonfly.
Curiously Matt tried to poke the drone by carefully avoiding the propellers and poking his underside. His friend put up quite some fight against Matt's finger, but could be overpowered by him, "Hmm you're strong, maybe you could even fly outside in moderate wind". "I should be, at least that's what this form was designed for", he texted before buzzing around some more.
