Laura decides that see couldn't spare a second getting to those dice. Luck was on her side for now it seemed too, as the officers approached the group of mother's asking about the older Laura. With them distracted, Laura simply toddled off.
Laura found once she mixed back in with the crowds she was good as invisible, for better or worse. Parents seemed more than busy enough keeping an eye on their own kids and the kids were too busy rushing around to concern themselves with the toddler. The kids also weren't too careful to avoid running into her either. More than once she found herself knocked over and had to resist the impulse to cry.
Eventually, she arrived back at the ball pit to see a grumpy Michael still looking for a lost diaper. But what caught Laura's eye was the pile of her actual lost belongings. Her much too large 9 year old clothes sat to the side with her cell phone and the dice case on top of them. Confirming both dice had been returned, she takes the two and considers her next move.
