Although it was very difficult for him, Edwin managed to not use the Chronivac again for the rest of the school day. There were times that he was tempted to use it. For example, his teacher Ms. Santos, who absolutely bored him to tears during the lessons. One would have shrugged it off as it was in the perspective of a 10 year old who used to be 16, but several of his classmates looked like they were checking out as the day went on. He was also tempted to use it on Steve, the class know-it-all who Edwin suddenly remembered hating. Steve wasn't a bully unlike Jack, but he was always known to correct other students when they shout wrong answers or use poor grammar. He was also known to be a tattletale, which made him unpopular with other students, thus he didn't have any friends. This didn't seem to bother him as Edwin believes that Steve thinks everyone is below him. As much as he wanted to also put Steve in his place, Edwin knew when to stop thanks to his older mindset.
Edwin went straight home after school ended for the day. He knew that he had homework to do, but he was overcome by his childhood habit of leaving homework until later in the evening. He instead returned to the Chronivac, which had already synced with his portable emitter, complete with his change being set to permanent as well as the changes made to Jack and Mr. Ortiz. Just as he got off the Chronivac on the computer, Edwin's mother knocked on the door, which was when Edwin realized that his door did not have a lock.
"Edwin, your father and I have dinner reservations for tonight and Dawn is staying at a friends house until late in the night, so we have called a babysitter over" his mother stated. Edwin cringed at hearing that he was going to need to be looked after, even though he reminded himself that not only is he 10 years old but that he also made himself 10 last night. Edwin hoped that he didn't have to end up with his old sitter Ms. Caldwell. He never liked her even when he was a kid the first time. Her punishments were very unreasonable for even the smallest of issues, she always treated him like a baby and she was very rude to both him and Dawn. Edwin did remember his parents firing her when he was 12, but then he realized that as a result of the change she was never fired.
Edwin sat patiently waiting to find out who will be watching him tonight...
