The Magic Shop

How to meet and intimidate humans

added 3 years ago A O

The administrator stopped dead in his tirade against Todd and went deathly pale white as his mind literally fractured trying to comprehend the creature talking to him. He looked for visible suit lines or some wires holding the thing up. There were none, of course. He looked deeper into the building and backed away very quickly as he saw the giant crocodiles and the giant komodo babe staring back. The two zookeepers he came in with backed away very slowly as well.

"That wassss perfectly effective." The cobra called back to her friends. "Wouldn't you ssssay?"

"Sure was, boss!" The female iguana called smugly.

Todd exchanged a glance with the cobra as the door slammed shut and she sighed.

"Ssssay sssssorry." She hissed quickly.

"I'm sorry I forgot you." Todd gulped.

"We'll talk later." The snake nosed forward and pointed to the door.

The administrator now came in a second time with two equally well dressed individuals and one game keeper armed with what looked like a heavy duty rifle.

"What the fuck is going on here?" The administrator said nervously. "What the fuck are those things?"

"Reptile people." The snake said simply, as if that was obvious.

The game keeper clutched his gun close and even cocked it ominously. The lizards in the main room braced themselves for a fight, the Komodo getting onto her hands and knees and stretching sharply. Gun or no gun, a giant pissed off lizard woman could chew through them all.

The game keeper stared and made her his priority.

"O-Okay... how... how are there reptile people? Let's just... all stay calm here." The administrator eyed the aggressively stanced lizards in the other room. He was absolutely pants shittingly terrified. The two executives behind him equally so.

The game keeper kept his eyes on the others. He was prepared to do some damage. Two other armed guards dressed in zoo attire were running across the open pavillion talking frantically on their radios.

This could be very bad very quickly.

"Okay. Sssssoooo before we give ssssome ansssswerssss, sssir," The cobra pointed to the game keeper, who eyed her momentarily as his back up arrived. "Let'ssss all be civil. I want those gunssss outsssside ssssooo we can talk. Do you think that'ssss fair?"

The other reptiles nodded and murmured their agreement. They had picked a sensible leader.

The administrator turned to the other two suits and they nodded quickly.

The game keeper began to back towards the door and exited without taking his eyes off the situation. He immediately began hollaring orders outside to the others.

"Explain, please." The administrator gulped. "I see it, but I don't believe it."

"All right." The snake nodded. Her sharp mind found a story to make up that would protect Todd. "There wasssss a fire, you ssseee, and all of the lizardsssss in thissss building were soaked. There was ssssssome sssssort of toxic chemical in the water that changed ussss into lizard people. We got out, obviousssssly."

The administrator stared in shock and nodded, clearly flustered. "My God. Okay." He turned to the other two and they quickly huddled. "Let me be the first to extend our... uh, it wouldn't be regrets, would it? Well, uh, apologies for any... inconveinience. Or..."

The snake nodded and shrugged. "Ssssure. I get what you're ssssaying."

"My God," one of the other suits piped up, a well dressed female. "What if there's something in the water?"

"God dammit!" The administrator began to shake. "Get everything shut down! Go! Go! Clear out all the guests and get Gustav to implement a quarantine. We need to check everything and every animal."

Todd and the cobra offered each a quick giggle as the woman ran off frantically and began ordering the game keeper around.

"All right." The administrator gulped. "All right. All right." He thought frantically and looked around again. "Listen, listen. Uh, is everything all right here? Any sick? Any hurt?"

"No." The cobra shook her head.

"I have to see to the rest of the property. We'll... we'll be back. I'll be back. I need to speak to my board before we... well, we need to have a meeting."

"Ssssure." The cobra said politely. The administrator bolted out the door nearly crying in terror and in the rest of the reptile hall there was a burst of cheering and clapping.

"Not bad, boss." The female iguana leaned against the wall and clapped gently.

"So, what'sssss our next move?" The cobra eyed Todd.

"Well, let's talk to the others. You guys need to figure out what you want out of life now, I guess."

"All right!" Gretta called sternly as she began to walk through the hall. "You heard the creator! Gather everybody up! It's town hall time! Come on! Meeting!" There was a buzz of nervous excitement.

Nobody happened to notice the tiny naked green anole girl who had snuck past the desk and now exited the building in a lithe run.
