Kellie could only grin, shaking her head as she watched her friends. Glancing over at her daughter Ann she could see a look of confusion on the github girls face. "What is it Ann?"
"Mom," Ann asked. "How is it you look so calm? So at peace? You know what's coming, that thing destroyed my timeline. It will destroy every timeline. How can we possibly find any happiness?!"
Kellie sighed, motioning for Jack as the two now stepped away with their daughter. "Ann," Kellie said, her voice serene and gentle. "We have to believe that we will be okay. Otherwise there's no point in going on."
"Your moms right," Jack added. "We need to have faith."
Ann could only gawk at her teenage parents, it seemed impossible to have faith considering what she had seen. "Faith," she whispered. "Have you two lost your damn minds?! Faith isnt going to beat that thing. If you think that's what's going to get us through this you idiots!"
"Hey," Kellie frowned. "Now you listen here. I've lived longer, traveled through more timelines, and seen things that would make you piss your pants in fright. You cant let fear control your actions."
"Ann look," Jack said quietly. "I know your scared. We all are okay. But the thing is this, no matter what happens we will protect you."
Ann could feel tears welling inher eyes as she shook her head. She knew her parents were trying to reassure her yet she had doubts. It seemed foolish to think they had a chance and she knew this. To think that her parents would have any believe that any of then would be okay was a fools errand.
"Ann I'll tell you a secret," Jack smiled. "You know how I know things will be Okay? It's because me and your mom have both been given a second chance."
"A second chance to make mistakes," Ann grumbled.
"I heard that young lady," Kellie grumbled, noticing the teenage goth glancing at her very pregnant stomach. "And yes me and your father have made mistakes, but I do know this. Because of that mistake you now have a sibling, a younger brother who will need you to protect him."
Ann's eyes went wide as she looked.betqeen her parents. "Shes right per.usual," Jack shrugged, causing Kellie to give him a smug smirk. "And that's why things will be Okay. Fate didnt bring you here and give you a little brother, just for existence to end."
Ann sighed, shrugging her shoulders as she looked at her parents. "Okay mom and dad," she sighed. "I may not have the same faith you two do but I'll try."
Jack and Kellie smiled, drawing the girl into a tight hug. "That's all we can ask," they whispered. As the family now hugged, Ann bit her lip in fear, she would try to out on a brave face for her family. Soon she would have a little brother, a brother that would need her to protect him from all that was evil in the world.
