High Schools accept even non-existent students

added 3 years ago O

He his eyes zoned in on a letter from the local high school. Sunwood High, confused he double checks to make sure it is addressed to his house, and it indeed was.

Having never had a child he has never had any interaction with the local high school, so why they’ve sent a letter to him is beyond him.

He considers ignoring it but it doesn’t take look for his curiosity to get the better of him, prompting him to open up the letter.

‘Dear Parents,

It is our pleasure to inform you that your child has been accepted into our high school for this year of study. In order to begin the final process of yearly enrolment as well as organising details and orientation, please come to Sunwood High....’

The rest of the writer trails off into instructions on when and how to come as well as a standard advertisement of how great the school is and a overview of their education standards and facilities. Starching his balding head, Aaron looks over the letter a few times.

“Must be some mistake...” he comments to himself. He doesn’t have a child, a fact he wasn’t exactly happy to he reminded about.

Sighing, he supposes he should quickly stop by the high school this morning in order to get this whole thing sorted. He doesn’t want to get into another argument with his wife if the high school’s misconception becomes a nuisance.

Getting through the rest of his coffee and getting dressed in his normal dark suit, he heads out to his car, noting silently his wife’s car is indeed gone. Getting in he starts it up and drives off.

The neighbourhood is the same as it’s ever been. Upscale with an annoying and extremely micromanaging homeowners association, how which he and his wife were of course a active part of, their neighbours would never let them hear the end of it if they weren’t.

After some time of monotonous driving he arrives at the high school. The sight of happy parents and children bringing him no small amount of depression. Pushing through it he walks in and to the reception while holding up the letter.

“Uh,.. excuse me but I received this letter in the mail and-“ before he can explain his predicament however the reception interrupts him.

“Oh of course! The enrolment administrator will be with you shortly, I’ll page have them paged now” you try to interject to explain but the receptionist ignores you and instead goes and speaks into another receptionist’s ear, causing them to go walk off to presumably fetch this enrolment administrator.

“Uh.. actually I’m-“ you are about to explain yet again before she interrupts “Sorrt sir but I am quite busy, the enrolment administrator will awnser any questions you may have.”

Resigned to your fate, you take a step back to allow another visitor access to the reception desk and go sit down. Hopefully you’ll just be able to explain this situation to the enrolment administrator and be done with this ordeal.
