Laura locates the magic shop's address, which is in a nearby mall. But did she need to return them? Now that she's had a second to breathe, Laura wonders if she should be worried at all. After all, if she doesn't want to get younger she just needs to avoid rolling them. Besides a shot at regaining her youth isn't something to scoff at.
Her thoughts are interrupted by a returning Kaitlin. The younger, scratch that older, woman gives her a quizzical look.
"Laura did you change your outfit? You look different."
Over dinner, Laura explains the dice to her friend. Kaitlin wants to reject the idea, but Laura shows her that she's missing a scar from a kitchen accident the year prior. Laura hands her a die to examine and the spirit speaks again.
"Kaitlin Monroe, the spirit of youth has bonded with you. Each roll of this die shall return more of what you have lost."
"So we each get a die then?" Kaitlin asks.
"Looks like it. What should we do? Part of me thinks we should return them."
"And the other part?"
Laura pauses for a second and cracks a slight smile when a decidedly bad idea crosses her mind, "Well what if we had some fun?"
"What kind of fun?"
"How about we carry each other's die and head out. We goof off at the mall. If we feel like returning the dice at the end and trying to get back to normal, then we can head over to the magic store."
"So what we just can shave a few years off each other whenever we want? That doesn't sound like the best idea."
"That's fine. If you're too chicken to do it we can just return them." Laura wonders herself if it's a safe idea, but the notion of not controlling her own drops in age is strangely appealing.
"You know what? Sure here's mine. Give me yours."
The two trade dice, grab their belongings, and head off on foot to the mall.
