Laura grabs ahold of the dice and rises to her feet. Unfortunately the movie catches her attention again and she shrieks and drops them.
"Laura!"
“Sixteen and fifteen years you have walked this earth. Now these numbers are but thirteen and twelve. Each roll of the die shall return more of what has been lost.”
Kaitlin grabs ahold of the dice and scowls at her friend.
"Great job. Now I'm not even a teenager and we both belong in middle school."
"You're the one who wanted to see this dumb move! This is all your fault!"
"Nu uh. If you weren't such a scaredy cat we wouldn't be this small."
"Whatever let's just get out of here."
"Fine."
The two make their way to the exit, walking awkwardly in their oversized clothes. As they walk out they come face to face with an employee.
"Hey. That's an R rated movie you two are walking out of and I don't see any parents."
Laura speaks up first, "Sorry we went to the wrong theater. We're going to the right one now."
"Then you can show me your tickets then."
"No, we...lost them." Kaitlin chimes in.
"Sure you did. Come on you two you're coming with me to mall security. You can tell them and your parents all about what you were up to."
Laura and Kaitlin lock eyes and both seem to be on the same page. They bolt around the corner with the employee giving chase. Laura pulls Kaitlin into an open theater. Unfortunately Kaitlin wasn't prepared for the maneuver, the two stumble through the entrance before Kaitlin topples over. The dice, of course, fall free. Laura snatches them up and pulls Kaitlin to her feet before the spirit speaks.
“Thirteen and twelve years you have walked this earth. Now these numbers are but nine and ten. Each roll of the die shall return more of what has been lost.”
By the time the two have stuck themselves in open seats, they have been reduced to elementary schoolers. They watch as the employee enters the room and begins looking over the attendees. Hoping they don't stick out too much, they look at the movie they've snuck into.
