Kaitlin wakes up bursting with energy. Jumping out of bed she looks over to see Laura still fast asleep. Tiptoeing over to the crib she examines her normally older friend. A steady line of drool stretches down her face and by the smell she has made use of her diaper. If Kaitlin didn't know better she would assume there's nothing special about the child. Kaitlin's relieved to have avoided such an extreme fate at least.
"Laura wake up."
The toddler stirs and opens her eyes. Her face is contorted in confusion for a moment before she pieces back together the events of yesterday.
"We still widdle."
"Yeth I notithed. I altho don't know if I apprethiate how Anna hath been treating uth."
"Me no like. Me no baby."
"I know. I get we look like kidth, but we explained the thituation."
"What do?"
Kaitlin thinks for a moment then sighs, "I gueth we can't really complain. If it wathn't for her we'd thill be thuck in the offithe."
Almost on cue, Anna unlocks the door and enters the room.
"Good morning little ones."
Kaitlin scowls, despite her previous words this kind of greeting is anything but pleasant. She walks over to the crib and gives Laura's diaper a squeeze.
"Someone needs a new diapy."
Laura is returned to the changing table and Anna sets to work. After removing the soiled diaper, Laura is cleaned and a fresh diaper placed. Laura gulps as she considers how used to this process she feels. Laura is then placed on the floor. Anna then turn to Kaitlin.
"And let's see how you did."
Kaitlin is confused until she remembers the underwear she was wearing. Before she has a chance to object, Anna flips up the front of her gown.
"See I knew it was better safe than sorry."
Kaitlin turns beet red. Not only had she wet herself during the night, she also didn't even notice. Anna pulls off the wet garment and tosses it in the diaper pail and pulls off the gown. Kaitlin finds herself now being the one being cleaned by Anna. When she's down Kaitlin is then presented with a pair of disposable training pants.
"I don't need thethe. I'm not thleeping."
"Well so far you've had one accident and gone to the potty zero times. Do you want to risk an accident?"
"No," concedes Kaitlin as she pulls on the dreaded article, while Laura giggles.
"Good now let's..."
