Tim sat down at the table with a small sigh. It was a nice little coffee shop that Carla had called him to. Cozy and warm with nice clean furniture. He had ordered his coffee and seeing some blueberry muffins come right out of the oven he had ordered one. Coffee brewed and a nice hot muffin ready for consumption. Behind Tim a feminine voice said "Guess who?" Tim tried thinking about who it could be... I mean sure Carla had called him here, but... Last time he saw Carla was right after she recovered from her transition and... Her voice was nowhere near this feminine, but the voice was kinda similar but...
Tim said "I think you may have the wrong person miss."
The woman said "I don't think so Tim."
Tim assumed there was some medical breakthrough and said in an unenthusiastic voice "Carl?"
Carla pouted and said "Does this voice sound like it belongs to someone named Carl?" The two had been roommates in college, and for awhile Tim suspected Carl was a bit different. Then Carl came out and started transitioning, and Tim supported his transition. Although Tim had canceled his offer of getting an apartment together. The two had stayed friends, but after the first time meeting after Carla had recovered from surgery Carla had confessed that she had held a crush on Tim for awhile. However due to several factors such as Carla's transition not being the smoothest, they were bros for awhile, and Tim wanting to have kids of his own it just didn't work out... Then Carla went into hiding and the two talked less and less.
Tim said "Ok... Carla."
Carla smiling took the seat across from Tim and said "So, what do you think?"
Tim said "Well, you're a woman. Did some medical breakthrough happen when I wasn't looking?"
Carla thought for a second and said "I guess you could call it that, but now I'm a cute girl!"
Tim's coffee was delivered and he said "Yeah, you look nice." then took a sip, "This is a nice little cafe you picked out. Come here often?"
Carla sighed and said "You're taking this pretty well Tim."
Tim said "Well, you look pretty nice. Whatever they did to you was effective. I think whoever you eventually get will be a lucky guy."
Carla asked "Well why not you?"
