Neptune may have departed from Denver long after Colin's family and her own mother, it didn't take her long to rejoin said goddess, put her father in his wife's arms, flew all the way to Portland and waited lying down in the grass of Colin's backyard, waiting for him. She knew nobody would bat an eye, it was common for humans to have a dragon friend, especially one as young as herself.
If the neighbors looked, all they would see is a young drakaina with night-blue, almost black scales topside, silver ones underside, black hairs with sky-blue highlights on top of her head between the small bumps from were her horns will grow and, if her four eyes weren't closed, cat-like irises of the same sky-blue, peacefully resting. Nothing to wright about.
She knew she should think of how Colin and her were going to name her sisters, but couldn't help but think of the rumors about her being the goddess' daughter and how their lives would be impacted once it became proven fact.
Ten years. It was almost ten years ago that she felt the link between her and Colin create itself from the inside of her egg. The now 15 years old boy had grown a lot since then, even if she had grown far more herself. She still remembered how she was small enough to fit in the palm of his hand as a hatchling. How something so small could grow as tall as a human adult in only 10 years? How can something so small have the potential to become as big as her mother? How something so small could be the baby of that giant?
That's one of the thing she had a hard time understanding about her own kind. That, and why all drakonoïds reached adulthood at the same speed than humans, when they could live so much longer, but this one is something not even her mother understood, and she was the goddess herself, so…
When Colin and his family finally reached home, she helped them bring their stuff inside, before doing the same with her sisters' egg. (It was more secure to transport it by car than it would have been if she had donne so.) One common misconception is that dragons are exclusively quadrupedal. The truth is that dragons can walk indifferently on two or four legs, although the older (which also mean bigger) ones are almost always on all fours, they are mighty enough as it is, no need to scare everyone by towering even more over them. That said Neptune was still human-sized and since her arms and fore‘paws’ were as flexible and versatile as human ones, it made transporting things easier.
Since Neptune decided to stay until the twins hatched, Collin's parents wanted to place her and the egg in the guestroom, but the dragoness asked if she couldn't share Jane's room instead. Since the room was big enough and said teen-star seemed rather happy about the prospect, it was accepted. Apparently Jane felt she didn't know the drakaina bound to her brother as well as she should.
Neptune was happy with the prospect to pass more time with the teenage girl, but had something else to discuss with Colin before. Namely if they should or not confirm the rumors were true. She felt the backlash would be lessened if they were the one to reveal it, that letting someone else confirm it could even be a calamity. But she could hardly take the decision alone, she wasn't the only one who would be impacted by it after all.
The young dragoness was happy to learn Colin shared her worry, but his parents suggested they should test the waters with their friends first.
