Joey walked back into Melissa's apartment, or what used to be Melissa's apartment. He wondered where Melissa was staying now that she was a 10-year-old girl again. For all he knew, she was now Stacy's adopted sister. Walking back, Joey noticed a change. All the furniture has been rearranged or altered. Photos that Melissa kept on the wall were now ones that Joey had. It didn't take long for Joey to realize what was going on. Melissa was currently too young to live by herself, let alone have an apartment. And the reality shift has made this his apartment, which was certainly an upgrade to where he was living before.
But Joey didn't feel like the apartment's true owner yet. He had a feeling that Melissa's apartment was one small reality shift away, ready to resume its place when its owner returned. But Joey was just fine with that. He wasn't out to steal Melissa's home and rob her of her adulthood. He just reverted Melissa back to childhood to give her time to cool off and have some fun. She and Stacy would be back eventually to deliver those cookies he had ordered. Then he'd make them bikini models again and have sexy fun.
But next time, he wanted to make sure he'd be doing it right. It's become clear that the ring didn't always grant his wishes the way he meant them. It wasn't twisting his wishes, because there were plenty of instances to do that. But it appeared that poorly-worded wishes could result in things different from what he intended. Changing Stacy into a sexy but inexperienced adult and the altering of Melissa's experience was certainly proof supporting that.
If Joey was going to be using this ring, he'd need to practice his wishing. When Melissa and Stacy get back, he would want them to be adult women with willing minds and no hangups. But they probably won't be back until tomorrow or the day after. So Joey had time to really hone his wishing skills. He could easily use the ring's power on himself, but there carried the risk of doing something he wouldn't realize was a problem until it caused a lot of trouble. Of course, Joey could practice with his new neighbors. Melissa may have less to complain about when she got her apartment back. Or Joey could always go out and practice somewhere else. The park, the mall, the beach, they were all viable places. Where should Joey start?
