As she reexamined her new body, Janet decided that she was just a bit too tall for her liking. Forgetting that she was still wearing the necklace, she silently wished she was smaller. She stepped out of the bathroom and headed back to her bedroom. As she walked down the hall, she had a strange feeling something was wrong. When she finally reached the door, she gaped as she discovered her eye level was just above the doorknob. How could this be? After closing her eyes and shaking her head, she opened her eyes and saw that the doorknob was now above the top of her head and rapidly moving upward. She looked to her side and saw the walls similarly receding from her.
Oh my God, Janet whispered. I’m shrinking. She tried to reach for the doorknob, but it was well beyond her grasp. Her panic only increased as she saw the door bottom was level with her midsection. In a desperate effort to stop the shrinking, Janet took off the amulet. She breathed a sigh of relief when she learned she stopped shrinking. She then saw the bottom of the door was, by her viewpoint, about 10 feet above the floor. After a few quick calculations, she guessed she was about a centimeter tall, give or take. She calmed down as she understood that her costume and the amulet had shrunk with her. She could just wear the amulet and return to normal size at any time, but she suddenly felt curious about being insect size. She was still a Supergirl. Superwoman, she corrected herself, so she didn’t worry about being crushed or eaten or anything else bad that could happen.
