After Laura pulls out some old boxes of clothes, she feels a wave of exhaustion pass over her and excuses herself to bed. She warns Anna against getting carried away with the dice one last time.
Laura wakes up to a small figure bouncing on her bed. Opening her eyes she is shocked to find a little girl, no older than six or seven, dressed in an old sundress she remembers seeing shoved in a box.
"Anna?!?"
"Uh huh! Isn't it cool? I'm just like a real kid again!"
"Cool? You look like you belong in kindergarten!"
"First grade," a touch of putulence carries in the words.
"I told you I didn't want to babysit."
"Well I'm not a baby. So you don't hafta."
Sighing Laura pulls herself out of bed. Despite what her little friend says, Laura doubts the girl is going to be able to manage on her own. It is only then she realizes her replacement clothes are baggy. Rushing to a mirror she finds herself reduced to an early teenager, no more than 13 or 14.
"Anna did you roll my die again?"
The girl looks down nervousl, "I didn't mean to. It was an accident. It was hard getting the dice in there. "
"In where?" Laura says with tension in her voice.
"I'm not going to tell you. You'll just want to go to the dumb magic store to turn back. But I wanna try this whole child thing out first. So, we're going to go do something fun and when we're done I'll tell you."
Laura feels like she's going to explode. How can Anna think this is all fun and games?
