Carol smiled as she confidently strode toward the exit, smiling as she thought about her new body’s potential. Stopping toward a mirror, she drank in the incredible sight her enhanced vision gave her.
« Mmhh, I don’t think I’ll ever need my weapons now, my body is now the best killing machine on this planet, » she purred. Her session of self-admiration was interrupted when she felt the now familiar feeling of another pill affecting her. The warm feeling came back in full force as another phase of her transformation kicked in. She reared back as her body began to grow again, gaining more mass and muscles and pressing against her hard exoskeleton.
She grabbed a laboratory benching as she felt her hands changing again, strength filling her limbs while her fingers fused into three longer digits, each adorned with a sharp claw. Poison sacks appeared under her chitinous skin, linked with her claws and her elbows’ spikes.
Carol barely had the time to think about how deadlier her body was becoming when a splitting headache made her screech an inhuman howl. Two dark eyes appeared above her first pair, expanding her field of view while her teeth sharpened, giving her a dentition more suited for a predator.
She panted as her transformation stopped, the rush of pain and pleasure making her shivering with desires. Rubbing her three-fingered claws over her body, she realized she was now around 6.4 feet tall. Looking down, she saw the sturdy benching’s edges bend over by her strong hands. But her attention was soon diverted by what she saw. In front of her were several vials full of mutagenic fluids, labelled with various animals. Several of them were marked with the Deathstalker Scorpion but she also saw several other promising predators: various venomous snakes, black widow, wasp, crocodile, Komodo dragon, bats… She also noticed the box of pills sitting nearby, almost entirely full.
« Mmhh, » she said, « I wonder if another drink of the scorpion vials could make more dangerous. Or maybe I should try another specie, see if I could get wings or more poison. What do you think Doc ? » she asked him without even turning her head.
He didn’t answer, instead of trying to run past her, fearing Carol might become dangerous. He didn’t stand a chance. With her enhanced vision, Carol noticed him and used her long tail to hit him square in the chest. He didn’t have time to realize what happened, poison coursing into his spasming body until he died.
« Pff, pathetic human, » she thought, turning her head to look with detached curiosity at the corpse lying near her. Her cold personality was in perfect sync with the scorpion’s instincts. These scientists were the culprits of his brother’s death, they deserved to die. Besides she had more important things to do, the pills and the vials could give here more strength, more power. She wondered if she should drink more, maybe mix them…
