Life wasn’t easy after the outbreak; especially for you, Garrick. When the wolf apocalypse began, quarantine zones were of little effect. The government resorted to issuing standard weapons (e.g. rifles, shotguns, handguns, etc.) to civilians for self-defense. But it was of little use. These wolves hunt in the shadows, striking their prey before they can draw their weapon. Almost everyone from your campus has either been infected or ran away (and were probably infected too). With the government crumbling and nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population transformed or killed, you are on your own.
Three months after the outbreak, you find yourself hiding in a shack on top of an old apartment building. You’ve been good at sneaking the streets for supplies while going unnoticed. You covered your scent, stocked up food and water, grabbed weapons from lost battles on the street. Things are looking good, for now.
One day, you’re sitting high atop your abandoned building, looking out at the nearby forest. This was your usual day; staring out into the distance and watching wild animals (probably wolves) scurrying in and out of the city and back to the woods. You lay back in your chair to rest when suddenly, your phone rings! Your phone hasn’t rung in months! The last call you received was an unknown number from someone during mid-rape. You quickly fumble through your stash of random trinkets and finally find the source of the ringing. You answer the phone while your heart beats through your chest, hoping that no canine ears heard it.
“Hello” you whisper under your breath. You can faintly hear breathing from the other end of the line.
“Help.” A young woman’s voice says, “I’m on Applewood street.” The phone then suddenly hangs up.
What do you do? Could this woman be uninfected and called you by chance? Or is a female wolf baiting you? With this in mind, it might not be safe to stick around any longer; especially since your phone rang for a solid minute, giving away your position.
So, what’s it gonna be? Stay put? Leave? Or go after the girl on Applewood Street?
