"Welcome Lilith," Kiko grumbled, bowing her head slightly.
Lilith smirked, returning the bow as she now walked with Kiko and Kellie. "I take it my presense is not welcome," she stated. Kiko said nothing as they walked towards the palace. As they did Kellie scanned the town. Kitsune gaped at the group, some ducking inside buildings as others snarled at the demon queen. "It appears your clan does not like me."
"You did kill Yomi," Kiko grumbled. "Not to mention Hikari and several others. Hard to trust someone thats already attacked us on numerous occasions."
"I had nothing to do with Hakari," Lilith lied as she stared at Kellie. "However, I apologize. I have had a change of heart."
"Didnt think you had one," Kiko scoffed.
"So how is Bob," Kellie said quickly, trying to change the subject.
"Bob was finally able to return," she said. "The paperwork in the underworld is quite tedious. Since his return that anthro woman he visits so frequently , Cindy I believe, has been by his side trying to improve his mood."
"As pleasant as this conversation is we have business," Kiko stated. "The sooner you leave the happier I'll be."
"Of course," Lilith stated. As the trio came to a stop Lilith gazed at the six tail kitsune. "Your parents and I have seen what awaits us. My proposal is an alliance. We work together, we fight together. No tricks, no subterfuge. All hostilities between us shall end."
"And why should I believe you," Kiko asked, furrowing her brow.
"I had a feeling I wouldn't be trusted," Lilith smirked. "That is why I have brought this." Slowly Lilith reached inside her robes, producing a parchment and a small vial. "It is a well known fact that the members of this clan are barren," Lilith stated. "For quite sometime your clan has been forced to adopt Kitsune into your clan. I offer this potion and this parchment as a peace offering."
Kiko frowned as she carefully studied the potion and the parchment. "I too have been stricken with infertility," Lilith sighed. "My womb is unable to produce anything but demons. I have spent eons trying to reverse that curse to no avail."
"So why give us this potion then if it doesn't work," Kiko asked.
"Because," Lilith said. "Although this potion can not help me it shows promise. Myself and Circe believe that it will work for your clan."
Kiko studied the parchment and potion carefully. If this were true it would be a turning point for the clan. "Two things," Kiko said quietly, still studying what Lilith had given her. "One how do I know this isnt some sort of poison that will slaughter us all and two why would you give this to us?"
"Have your mages, doctors, and alchemists study it," Lilith said. "You will see I am speaking the truth. As to your second question I realize how important an alliance between us would be in ensuring our survival. I offer this gift as the ultimate proof that I wish for us to be allies."
Kiko nodded, gazing at the potion and parchment intently. If Lilith was telling the truth it would solve one of the greatest crisis her clan was experiencing. That Lilith would offer this was extraordinary. "You do realize I need to assure it's safe before I accept any alliance," she said.
"Of course," Lilith stated. "I would expect nothing less."
Kiko bowed, carefully placing Liliths gifts in her pocket as she eyeballed the demon queen. "Is that all?"
"Yes it is," Lilith stated, bowing once more before Kiko. "I understand your clans natural distrust of me. After everything that has happened it is only natural. Know this though, I am sincere in my request for an alliance. Examine the gifts I have given you. If they are what I have said then I hope you would consider an alliance."
"And if I do not," Kiko asked.
"I would hold you no ill will," Lilith stated. "The coming threat is far larger than any petty difference we may have. Our combined strength may be able to overcome this thing. Regardless consider what I have given you as a peace offering, no strings attached."
Kiko could only nod as Lilith now turned to leave. "Kellie," she said. "Despite our dislike for one another I realize are differences need to be put aside. For the sake of my son, and my grandson, I wish to work together in the coming battle." Without another word Lilith now exited the town, vanishing once more into a portal that would take her to her realm.
"So what do you think," Kiko asked as they watched the demon queen vanish.
"She actually sounds sincere," Kellie said in awe. "I think she might actually be serious about this alliance.:
"If what she has given us is true then I would definitely consider an alliance," Kiko said quietly. "Still I need to examine this and experiment to make sure it isnt dangerous."
Kellie nodded in agreement, yes it would be prudent to be careful with Liliths gift. If by chance though it was what she said then perhaps an alliance between the kitsune and demons could be forged.
