...a nerd?
Yeah. She looked like a nerd. A geek. A complete dork. Jamie's reflection shown herself but she looked like a nerd. Her skin was more pale than before, making her current, slightly tanned skin contrast with what she saw. She was rather pudgy as well. Her body shape was rather good-looking. Thin, but with some wider hips. Completely average. But this was something else. Her legs were about as meaty as a turkey leg at a renaissance fair. Jamie didn't believe that the reflection version of herself could even fit into the shoes that she was wearing, but they looked different too. Currently, she was wearing some sports trainers, nice and clean despite the amount of jogging she did. She was rather athletic, which makes this whole experience even more confusing. But her shoes on the reflection were different. They looked like custom Converses that could only fit her size, and around the room she saw shoes as well. Were those loafers? And sandals? And birkenstocks? This was completely weird.
Her legs weren't the only part of her body shape that changed. Her hips that were just a little wider were a whole lot wider now. They were as thick as pillows. They were fat. Not only that, but her stomach was more out than in. Jamie was usually one who kept to a certain body image, not because of looks, but for health reasons. This looked like it broke that rule of hers. Her arms were a bit thinner than her legs, but not by much. Speaking of her legs, she could barely see past what the reflection was wearing. It was a long, vintage ugly dress that went passed her ankles, all patterned weird, it looked hideous. She looked up more, seeing that her rather large breasts where covered by a neat white shirt, which was covered by a weird crimson-like sweater. And if she looked closer, she was also wearing suspenders.
Her face was the thing that shocked Jamie the most. Jamie was one who had clear skin throughout her years, which became the envy of her friends. Her face in that reflection looked like a pimple, acne minefield. Her hair was all messy, and yet, it was stylized? Stylized poorly, but still stylized into braids. Her eyes were covered by thick black glasses, she didn't even have poor eyesight, but the reflection in the mirror didn't lie. Those were glasses. With tape in the middle. But she mainly focused on her teeth. Her mouth was agape, and so was the reflection, where she clearly saw that her teeth were bucked. She looked like a country bumpkin. A ditz. ...were... were those braces? She tapped her teeth with her fingers. She couldn't feel anything, not even the bucked teeth, but her reflection did. She saw, as she moved her hands, her fingers touch the tips of the braces.
The room looked different in the reflection as well. The room was clean and all set up, which was very unlike her room currently, but even then, there were posters, figurines, and books of things that she didn't even know about. Her old school jersey had changed as well. Instead of the name of her school's soccer team, it was replaced with the logo of her school's chess club. She had no interest in those kinds of things, but they were there. In the reflection. After a while, the image faded, revealing herself in her messy, unpacked and unmade room again. Back to normal.
"That was weird... really, really weird..." Jamie said to no one but herself. This has got to be a joke.
