Walking into King’s Apparel without spotting his reflection in the glass of the doors, Alec began looking around at the various clothing options. Relieved that a good portion of the clothes were large enough to fit, Alec look at many of the items with derision. Some of the outfits would look appropriate on an urban thug, while the more formal wear look like something a gangster would have worn in the first half of the twentieth century.
Finally, Alec was able to locate a few pairs of jeans, and some black tank tops. Next he looked around for some new footwear, and after selecting a pair of black boots, Alec spotted a leather jacket that he thought he would look sexy in. After dropping the garments in a changing room, Alec quickly slipped into the restroom. The restroom did not have a mirror and the light was dim, so as he relieved the pressure, Alec did not see his nose grow a little wider, his head raising closer to the ceiling and his skin tone grow a little darker.
After he finished answering nature’s call, Alec went back to the changing room. Slipping his cloth off, Alec turned around to admire his physique before covering it with clothes. It was at this moment though that he realized that something was terribly wrong.
In the mirror, Alec did not see a muscular and tan white boy. Instead, a mixed race guy stared back at Alec, and though there were a some resemblance between the old Alec and the person in the mirror, Alec started to freak out. He had been able to overlook most of the changes to his body because they mostly concerned his physique, but now, Alec could not handle the fact that people would think that he was not white.
