The couple decided to go to Jane's place. Jane's mom already knew about her daughter's predicament, so she'd be easier to deal with than Rose's parents. However they still had a full day of classes ahead of them. Rose decided to take the fall for their tardiness.
The trip from the bathroom to their next class was uneventful. Jane held Rose's arm the whole way and they didn't encounter any other students on the way since everyone was in class already. However, when they arrived they were met by a very annoyed Maths teacher.
"You're both late. I see Jane is dragging you down Rose. I'll have you no excuses, you're both going to the principal's office. I don't have the patience for anyone that has anything to do with this depraved student." he stared at Jane as he said those last words. "Leave. Now."
Jane was angry and distraught, but Rose managed to drag her away from the door. Jane started crying once again, her life was officially ruined. She sat on one of the benches in the halls.
"It figures our Math teacher would be an ass... I can't do this anymore, Rose! I can't keep following my routine like nothing's wrong!"
"Jane, I'll talk to the principal, convince him to just let us off the hook and go home for the day. He'll understand from how upset we both are that we are going through some shit. Cm'on, I love you Jane, but we gotta go"
Jane stopped applying dead weight on Rose and let herself be propped up by her girlfriend. She kept walking with her head down, occasionally sobbing as they made their way to the principal. Rose had no words of comfort, all she could do was hope her presence was enough.
As they arrived at the principal's office, the man himself was waiting for them at the door. With a simple head jerk, he motioned for the two of them to go in.
"I want to say I'm disappointed in you two. Rose, you've always been punctual so this is unexpected and a bit disappointed frankly. And Jane" he looked her over as he said her name, taking in the bizarre scene before him "I pride myself in my patience, I do. But you're giving me a hard time here. However, I can see you've been crying, and you've always been an honest student, if irresponsible. Instead of expelling you, I will contact your parents, so we can figure out the next course of action. I will also give Rose benefit of doubt and assume that she was comforting you. That said, I think you should go home for the day. Oh, before I forget, I noticed this envelope addressed to the both of you with no sender on my desk earlier. You may leave now."
Rose thanked the principal for his kindness profusely, taking the letter with both hands and gently grabbing Jane to leave. As they reached the hallway, Rose opened it and saw an incredibly fancy looking invitation inside.Before Jane thought about what she was doing, she glanced at the document and found herself unable to tear her eyes away. It was written by Bill and so the cursed kicked in, she realised with horror.
