"Does it give any -gribbit - clues to where we could - gribbit - find her?" James asked hopefully.
"Oh yeah, great idea. Let's hunt down the psycho witch and ask her nicely if she'll remove her spell" Nicola seemed genuinely affronted James had even proposed the question "No offence, but I really don't want to end up in the same state you are"
"Well do you have any - gribbit- better ideas?" James asked in frustration, his patience beginning to wear thin after the day he'd had.
"I do actually" Nicola replied, managing somehow to maintain a degree of smugness in even the most dire of situations "there are some names and contact details of people who are supposed to be experts on this sort of thing at the bottom of the article. Well, there only two and one of them seems mad. But this other guy has a degree in paranormal stuff. He sounds pretty respectable"
Without needing to be asked she quickly dialled the number into her phone. To James' relief, someone answered.
"Oh, hello, sorry to disturb you" Nicola began in her best at work speaking manner "I just read an article you were mentioned in about a witch named Meredith. Well, I believe we met her this afternoon and now my friend is turning into a frog....hello? Hello?"
James sighed as Nicola stared angrily at her phone.
"The bastard hung up on me" she seethed at the strangers nerve.
"What about the other one?" James suggested tactfully.
"The mad lady who thinks she is magic?" Nicola wrinkled her nose in distaste at the thought, but relented under the circumstances "Fine, but don't get your hopes up"
After a brief conversation which James could frustratingly only hear part of, Nicola thanked the person on the other end of the line and hung up.
"Well, griibit?" James asked eagerly.
"She said she'd come over immediately" Nicola answered, nonplussed.
"Well that's -griiibit- good isn't it?" James croaked.
"I didn't even give her my address" Nicola replied, almost sympathetically "I told you, she's mad. Perhaps I should try the other guy again. Or I could put you on the phone, then he could hear your..."
The suggestion was cut short by the sound of a doorbell. James jolted in anticipation.
"Don't get too excited, it will be one of my housemates" Nicola cautioned "Not even broomsticks are that fast"
"But don't they have a - gribbit- key?" James asked, not quite sure if he wanted to meet another magical type or not at that moment.
"Must have lost them" Nicola called back from halfway down the stairs.
When she opened the front door she was somewhat taken aback on seeing the stranger who greeted her.
"Hello, Nicola. We just spoke on the phone"
