Laura yawns deeply after she pulls out her old clothes. Between all this happening and tax season, she was exhausted. Anna gets her tucked into the bed with only a little protest from Laura.
"Anna, please be careful about rolling your die. I really don't want to wake up to see you a child."
"Don't worry Miss Peters. I'll only roll one more time for myself."
With that Laura went into a deep sleep.
Anna walked out of the bedroom and sat down with a drink. She took a few minutes to re-read the instructions coming with the dice before deciding to roll again.
“Thirty you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but Twenty-Four. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost.” Lights appear around Anna and she watched as the last remains (and pounds) of middle age disappeared from her. The young woman looked over her body pleased with what she had regained.
A few minutes later, she had put on the sundress that Laura had in her old clothes. It was big on her even though it was Laura's teenage years.
She took a moment to look in on Laura who was still deeply asleep. Anna quietly sighed as tucking in Laura had been the closest she had gotten to motherhood.
Then she got a funny thought that she could change that with the die. It was really tempted for Anna. She had the directions to the Magic Place which was pretty close to Laura's place. And doing so would be somewhat safe if she was careful.
