Laura stared at the building in front of her. It was the magic shop! Overcome with relief and excitement, she clapped her hands. Once her minor celebration was over, she walked over to the door and pushed on it. It didn’t open.
Laura cursed softly. The swear sounded odd in her adorable toddler voice. Of course she couldn’t just open the door by pushing on it, she was a toddler! She looked around, wondering if there were any adults who would be able to open the door for her. There was no one.
She also considered trying to pound on the door, or maybe shout until whoever was inside heard her and came outside to check. As she was about to take this step, another thought came to her. She might not be able to open the door because the shop was closed.
Laura took a few steps back until she could see the sign on the door. To her horror, she realized that she couldn’t read the sign. She must have lost her ability to read when she got younger, and now she couldn’t tell whether the store was opened or closed!
At the precise moment she realized that, her hold on her bowels broke and she began to fill her diaper. Then, her little legs, pushed to their limit by the day’s activities, gave out. Laura fell onto her butt, smearing the poop everywhere. Devastated that she had come so far, only to end up an illiterate toddler with a soiled diaper, Laura had no choice but to cry.
