This isn’t what Laura wanted when she called Kaitlin for help. After simmering in anger for a few minutes, Laura decides that this won’t work for her. The dice aren’t bonded to her anymore, so she won’t get any younger. All she has to do is survive the weekend as a toddler and make her way to the magic shop on Monday. She can do that on her own!
Laura quickly grabs some items from around the room that she thinks she’ll need, primarily her personal items, as well as clothes and training pants. She stuffs the things into a bag then scales a dresser and climbs out a window. She lands on the ground outside heavily, but at least her training pants cushion her fall somewhat. As Laura sets off for her house, she realizes she never removed the pacifier. Sucking on it comforts her, however, so she keeps it in her mouth.
Laura has the first stroke of luck she’s had all day, when no one spots nor stops her on her way to her house. She grins around her pacifier when she arrives. Within a few minutes, she is inside her home and in her bed. She curls up under the blankets, still sucking on her pacifier. Sleep comes quickly.
