Luckily, no one was looking at Laura when she shrunk again. She quickly gets off the bouncy castle and toddles over to the table, just wearing her now oversized shirt.
“Mine!” she shouts, grabbing the dice from the kid, just before they are rolled again. The kid merely looks at her in surprise.
“Mom!” the kid shouts, running away. Laura grabs her backpack and prepares to leave, but before she can, she feels herself being lifted into the air.
“You’re right, Tristan, this little girl wasn’t invited to the party,” says the grownup holding Laura. “Your sister didn’t want anyone this young to come. She must have been dropped off with her big sister or brother.”
“She took some dice,” Tristan says, standing at his mother’s side.
“Some dice? Oh, no, those are a choking hazard!” The grownup quickly takes the dice from Laura. As she does so, Laura hears the dice speak again.
“Laura Peters. The spirit of youth is no longer bonded with you. Enjoy what has been returned to you.” Laura’s blood runs cold. She won’t be getting any younger, at least, but what does it mean for the dice to no longer be bonded to her? Does it mean she won’t be able to fix it?
While Laura is thinking about this, the grownup puts the dice in the backpack and brings both the backpack and Laura inside. Once inside, Laura is quickly put into a diaper and placed in a playpen only in that diaper.
“Keep an eye on her until her mommy or daddy comes to pick her up,” the grownup instructs Tristan. Tristan nods and sits on the floor next to the playpen. The grownup puts the backpack on a nearby couch. After she leaves, Tristan turns on the TV. He seems distracted, but not distracted enough for Laura to escape yet.
