Laura is running across a swaying bridge when she feels her stomach growl. She sits down kicking her legs idily as she tries to remember the last proper meal she had.
Definitely too long ago, she concludes. But how was a toddler with no money supposed to get a meal? What if she went back to daycare? Wait did she really consider that? That's definitely not going to happen. She'll just have to keep moving and keep an eye out for an opportunity.
After climbing back to her feet and making her way down the structure, Laura retrieves her backpack and gets back on the road. Shortly after, Laura has her attention drawn to a particularly crowded one.
As she walks down it, she sees a house with a bouncy castle and a big sign with balloons reading "Happy 4th birthday Carly!" out front. Moving closer, she can now see plenty of kids running around and grownups mostly talking amongst themselves. That seems promising to her, it looks packed enough that one extra attendee stopping for food won't draw any attention.
She makes her way over trying to slip in unnoticed and seemingly succeeds. She then helps herself to some pizza and finds a seat at a table crowded with other kids her age. They at least don't seem suspicious of the new arrival. Laura quickly finds herself an active participant in their discussions about princesses, cartoons, and other matters that interest her new peers. Once she's done eating she is asked to play over to the bouncy castle and happily accepts. She leaves her backpack at the table and follows after her new friends.
